My experience with this mat was terrible from the start. I spent 2 hours with a hair dryer trying to flatten the thing out, and it STILL has waves in it from how tightly it was rolled up. Once I managed to get as flat as possible on the floor, I tried my chair out on it. Horrible. It's barely a step up from having the chair directly on the carpet. Even without anyone sitting on the chair, the chair sinks into ruts in the mat immediately and becomes difficult to move. I left the chair sitting on the mat overnight, and the next morning, the mat was completely deformed by the indentation from the chair. I'm confused by the positive reviews because this is the worst chair mat I've ever seen.

I got this desk chair mat for my home office and I’m quite pleased. The mat is thick and sturdy, excellent protection for my carpet. It lays flat and stays in place without shifting. Just make sure you follow their instructions so it can be unrolled easily and flattened out.

I usually buy these locally and they are already flat. This one was rolled up and was extremely difficult to unroll. A heat gun helped and I finally got it flat, but I won't buy another like this.

Before unfolding, I put this cloth in the box overnight to reach room temperature, and the inside of the roll was a bit unwilling to flatten and maintain this state, so I had to roll it in the opposite direction a little and then stuff that end under the front foot of my wife's desk, everything was fine. Its width is just enough to give her room to swing left and right, allowing her to roll back from the table without rolling off the mat. One side of it is smooth, which is downward. It is durable enough to flip the chair over and sit in one place without disturbing the hardwood floor. Work for me.

Nice and thick. Took a couple of days with heavy objects on the corners to flatten but that's expected. Still struggle to scooch my chair in a bit but better than on the carpet without it.
