I've been shooting precision smallbore rifles for years. I have 3 Ruger Precision Rifles, 1 each chambered in .17, .22LR and .22WMR and I've tried a variety of rests that support and stabilize my rifle while I zero an optic, settling on a Caldwell Stinger (a fine rest on its' own) but it was another piece of equipment to carry to the range. Next I moved to a bipod, using a shot bag for a rear rest, but even then, I was carrying a lot of equipment to the range and everything required resetting after each shot. When you have to reset after each shot, putting shots in the 10 ring consistently becomes more difficult. After researching mono pods I was surprised to discover: A). how few mono pods there are on the market B). the wide range of cost and C). The varied opinions of each. I found mono pods costing as little as $21 and some costing upwards of $650, and the confusion continued. Eventually I decided I would just "pick one" as a starting point and I searched Amazon to see what they offered. This foldable mono pod is where I landed and so far, I'm both impressed and pleased. What I Like:The cost. Perhaps (my knowledge is, admittedly, limited) this isn't the most dependable, but it won't break the bank. After all of my research, the cost was 'quite reasonable', all things considered.Easy to affix to my RPR. Attaches in minutes and forms a very solid base.Solid aluminum construction. Nothing cheap or cheesy in the materials, design or finish.Foldable. Push button allows you to fold this flat against the stock and out of the way. You can get your rifle in and out of your gun bag without having to remove the mono pod.Adjusts from 3 3/4" to 4 3/4" with smooth adjustments and accurate positioning.Matte black finish matches my rifles and it doesn't look 'odd' or out of place. So, how well does it work? My initial test consisted of 20 shots, seated position, table rest at 100yds and my score was 18/20 on a 6" splatter target and the variance was likely self induced. The support was rigid and stable and I am pleased at how well this maintained my sight picture and I would recommend this to anyone seeking a 'budget' priced mono pod.

I prefer this method of shooting my rifle to using a bag. I can raise and lower the rifle by adjusting my grip acting as a lever.

Have it on the back end of a 308. Nice way to hold it steady with bipod on front end.

This looks just like the real thing but it is not nearly the same quality. The quick release did not hold, it was loosely put together and just not of acceptable quality.

Would not lock into place, buckled under recoil while shooting from the prone position.
