Although the design is easy to understand the quality is built very nice and sturdy, the crushing capabilities of this are based upon your own strength and if the can itself will stay in the location it's supposed to stay in. No I will say it is good for its valued price. It's easy to use and it's not really dangerous either probably keep it away from children though.

The cans slide around as you’re trying to crush them, and that makes it feel very unsafe. Very heavy, as well.

If you don't have a place for a more powerful vertical style, and need a foot unit, this does the job. But it works best on beverage cans and it takes some practice to crush food cans.

extremely easy to use, even in doors. i put a kitchen towel on the bottom plate and folded the can in the middle; the can (with this) folds in on itself and because of the towel is decently quiet. crushed somewhere around 500 cans with this in the first week.
