This is a great little motor controller for the price. This controller, unlike most, allows you to control the motor via a remote OR via the "manual override" contacts on the controller (by connecting the COM contact to the UP/DOWN/STOP contacts with a momentary contact switch in between). It also supports either momentary operation (the motor moves while you hold the button down) or latched operation (which is great for linear actuators - you tap the button once and the linear actuator fully extends/retracts).Combined, these make the controller very versatile. I use mine in a cheap-but-effective DIY setup to control opening/closing the doors on our 2 chicken coops. In between the COM and UP/DOWN/STOP contacts I am using a series of a time delay relay, a triggered delay off relay, a photoresistor-controlled relay (for automatic control) and (wired in parallel to these) (3x) momentary contact switches (for manual control). With these, I am able to control opening/closing the chicken coop doors via:1. using one of the RF remote controllers (which already included batteries, which was nice)2. using push-button momentary contact switches installed at the chicken coop3. automatically based on light conditions - when there is light it will open (around sunrise) and close when it is dark it will close (around sunset)

The Forward Reverse Remote Control Switch is designed for controlling linear actuators, electric shutter doors, winches, and electromagnetic systems. This remote control switch offers a wireless solution for controlling devices in a range of applications, such as home automation, machinery, and vehicles. With a DC voltage range of 7V-48V and a 10A current rating, this switch promises versatile functionality and ease of use. Here’s a comprehensive review based on its key features:Key Features:Wide Voltage Range (DC 7V-48V): The switch is compatible with a broad range of voltages, from 7V to 48V. This makes it flexible and suitable for various systems, such as linear actuators (often used in home automation and industrial applications), winches (in vehicles or boats), and electric shutter doors.10A Current Rating: With a maximum current rating of 10A, this switch can handle moderately high-power devices, making it versatile for use with different motorized systems or electric equipment that falls within this power range.Forward/Reverse Control: This switch allows for simple forward and reverse operation, which is essential for systems like linear actuators, where you often need to move a device in both directions. This functionality is ideal for opening or closing doors, adjusting the position of a linear actuator, or reversing the direction of a winch.328 ft Remote Range: The remote control has a range of up to 328 feet (100 meters), which provides flexibility in operation, allowing users to control the system from a significant distance. This is particularly useful in larger spaces, such as garages, workshops, or areas where physical access to the control system may be limited.Compatibility with Linear Actuators and More: This switch is specifically designed for use with linear actuators, making it an excellent choice for home automation projects, including adjusting furniture, lifting systems, and adjustable beds. It can also be used for controlling electric shutter doors, winches, and other electromagnetic devices, making it highly versatile for a range of applications.Wireless Remote Control: The included wireless remote offers convenience, allowing users to control the connected system without needing to manually interact with switches or motors. This can be especially helpful in situations where remote operation is crucial, such as when controlling heavy machinery or home automation systems.Pros:Versatile Compatibility: The wide voltage range and current rating make it suitable for a variety of systems, including linear actuators, winches, electric shutters, and other devices requiring forward/reverse control.Long Remote Range: With a remote range of 328 feet, this switch allows for convenient operation from a distance, providing flexibility for large spaces or outdoor areas.Ease of Use: The forward/reverse control simplifies the operation of connected devices, particularly for systems like linear actuators and winches that require easy directional movement.Wireless Convenience: The ability to control the device remotely adds a level of convenience and accessibility, reducing the need to be physically near the equipment.Wide Application Range: The switch can be used in numerous scenarios, such as in automotive, home automation, or industrial equipment, making it a versatile tool for various projects.Cons:Limited Current Handling: With a 10A current rating, this switch might not be suitable for very high-power applications that exceed this limit. If you're working with more demanding systems, you may need a switch that can handle higher currents.Potential Interference: While the remote control range is decent, long-range wireless signals could be subject to interference, particularly in environments with heavy metal structures or other wireless devices that could disrupt the signal.Requires Proper Wiring: While the remote adds convenience, proper installation of the switch is required for optimal performance. Wiring errors could lead to malfunctions or unsafe operation, especially when dealing with high-power systems. Conclusion:The Forward Reverse Remote Control Switch is a highly versatile and practical tool for controlling linear actuators, winches, electric shutter doors, and other electromagnetic systems. With a wide voltage range, a 10A current rating, and a convenient wireless remote with a range of 328 feet, it offers significant flexibility for various applications, from home automation to machinery control. Its ease of use and wireless functionality make it a great option for those looking to automate or remotely control their systems. However, users should ensure that their systems don’t exceed the current rating and be mindful of potential interference in environments with strong wireless signals.Overall, if you're looking for a reliable and convenient way to control devices like linear actuators or winches from a distance, this remote control switch offers great value for its price. Just ensure that your project’s power requirements align with the switch’s capabilities.

For less than $20 you can setup you own winch control. That is truly amazing! The RF transmitters and receiver worked flawlessly. I was able to go through each one of the setup conditions and program the unit to do exactly as stated. The different types will be handy in certain applications I will be using this on.When programming it didn't seem to wait for the stop button to be set. When trying out the devices then the stop button did work so this must be a minor issue. The RF range is great and covered the 100-150 foot area I was testing the units in.I like that these can be controlled wirelessly and has the hardwired option too. It will add a layer of redundancy when I incorporate it with my PLC. I plan to use the unit with my solar array to jog one axis to track the sun. A safety feature I will be programming is for them to jog the solar modules so they are the most vertical when inclement weather / hail is in my local area...automatically!These have been great so far.
