This OPTICAL cable will NOT plug into your headphone jack and convert analog audio signals into digital audio with optical laser light. The center core is a plastic fiber optic cable with connectors on both ends with a jacket to protect it. It is specifically used to transmit digital (optical) audio. If you need an OPTICAL cable to go from mini-TOSLINK to standard TOSLINK, this cable will do the job. (NOTE: NOT a 3.5mm Aux Cable)

I'm perfectly happy with the quality and performance of this cable, and the price was excellent.I've used this cable in two different ways to connect Apple equipment to my stereo with built-in DAC.The first one is connecting a Macbook Pro to an external DAC, or a stereo amp with a built-in DAC. The standard 3.5mm earphone jack on the Macbook Pro can output standard analog signals or optical.The second one is connecting an Apple Airport Express to an external DAC or stereo amp with built-in DAC. The Airport Express has the same dual-purpose 3.5mm audio output: analog or optical.In both of these applications, this cable allows you to bypass the DAC of the Macbook Pro or the Airport Express, which you'll want to do if you have a good stereo with built-in or external DAC. This significantly improves the sound quality.(I would also add that streaming to your system via wi-fi using an Airport Express is much better than streaming over bluetooth, I've done both and have done A/B comparisons - and it's far easier than I was expecting to set up the Airport Express to do this - I got my Airport Express refurbished from the Apple online refurbished store for 1/2 price and it is indistinguishable from a new one - highly recommended!)Important note: The 3.5mm analog output jack on most devices does NOT also support optical output. A few people who bought this cable did not know this and found the cable to be useless and gave it a bad review. That's not the cable's fault. Be sure this cable is what you really need before ordering. If it is, you'll be happy.

I am actually saddened that I have to return this cord it is really really nicely made it seems a lot of thought has gone into it including the little caps that go over the top for shipment unfortunately it just didn't fit my TV because my TV is a little older and it's got a lifetime warranty on it but the quality is top-notch I highly recommend it if it'll fit your TV

Reasonably priced specialty cable. I run the mini-optical into my Apple AirPort Express, the optical side into my SMSL SU-6 DAC. Works as it should. Note that some Macs - maybe some PCs - have a headphone jack that provides a mini-optical out.

I'm often amused by companies that offer gold plated optical cables. The signal is carried by the fiber optic cable, not the gold, as it would be in an analog cable. Nonetheless, this is a quality cable at a very fair price. Thank you.

My LG B2 oled tv has only an optical audio port and I wanted to attach my audio engine speakers that only receive a mini pin cable. I thought that this adapter cable would solve the problem but it didn’t so I wasted my money.

Ordered the Toslink audio cable, but unfortunately it stopped working (no red light). Soundbar no longer connected to TV. It failed days after the return window with Amazon, so I contacted the manufacturer via email. They responded within hours of my message and have already sent a replacement.I gave three stars only due to the product being defective. But I have to give "five" stars for their customer service. They respond quickly and I would not hesitate to buy another product from this company.

Let me tell you about this gold plated SPdiff cable. I plugged it in and the light of information glowed through it like the Eye of Sauron. It was great value for money, sounds great, looks and feels like a quality cable. Has enough flexibility for me. Great product.

Connecteur S/PDIF quasi impossible à connecter (diamètre trop gros). Au moment où je l'ai enlevé, le connecteur s'est démonté et le câble n'est plus utilisable.

False Advertising. Received a 3 feet length cable rather than 6 feet. Even the package says 3 feet cable and falsely advertised as an American product. It has the made in China marking on it. Poor show all around fellas, never thought that you would CHEAT me Comprehensively.
