I recently picked up the Fotoga Focus Wheel to pair with their mini matte box, but unfortunately, I'll be returning it and exploring other options (not the matter box... I love the matte box ðŸ‘)There were a few issues that made this product not the right fit for me. First, when tightening the clamp onto the rod, the threads immediately stripped, which was disappointing (see image) . It seemed like there wasn’t enough thread engagement, causing the clamp to fail. I managed to work around it by using a longer bolt and spacer kit to test it out.In terms of performance, the size of the focus wheel itself felt a bit too bulky for my setup. It was particularly tricky to use with shorter lenses, making it somewhat unwieldy. Lastly, it felt quite wobbly during operation, lacking the solid feel I was hoping for in a follow focus system.I’m giving it 3 stars because, despite the issues, it’s still an affordable option for those who need a basic follow focus. However, it just didn’t meet my expectations.

Doesn't stay in position at the joint, no matter how tight you get it, unless you have a focus ring that is super loose, but any sort of friction will cause it to bend.

This unit's fine, as long as your focus (or iris, or whatever) throw is nice and easy. The problem is: the joint doesn't lock securely at the bend, no matter how much you tighten it. If the gear gets even a little bit of resistance, it unseats - which eventually leads to a slipped gear tooth, which in turn pushes the whole unit away from the lens ring. The solution is to press while pulling focus, which, of course, is a great way to introduce camera shake and ruin your shot.I should have spent the few dollars extra to get a SamllRig or Tilta FF. Don't make the same mistake: spend the extra money and get one of these other brands.

This focus pull is worth the money. It looks good on your camera and allows you to guide the camera with less effort
