Frequently Asked Questions
What does the center green light mean?
In certain models, the center LED will turn green to indicate the exact center of the stud.
What does the single blinking light mean?
Several of our models now have a low battery indicator. When the battery voltage is low, the second LED from the right will flash. Replace with two brand new batteries.
Why do the LED lights flash when I first press the button?
In certain models, the LED lights will flash when you first press the button to assure you that the unit is on and receiving power.
What batteries can I use?
Not all of our models are compatible with rechargeable batteries. For best results, use two brand new, non-rechargeable, AA or AAA batteries (check instructions for details).

Stop researching and add it to your cart! I've been in the construction trade for 30 years, and I can confidently say that Franklin Sensors make the best stud finders on the market. If it's within your budget, get a 13-sensor model. I previously owned an M50, and it worked great, but it was stolen in a smash-and-grab. So, I decided to upgrade to the T13, and the extra sensors allow me to find not only the center of the stud but also both the left and right edges simultaneously. The T13 provides much greater accuracy.

On my recent DIY adventure installing a ceiling mounted TV lift, I needed an updated tool for my kit - the Franklin Sensors T13 Stud Finder. Having been involved in construction over the years, even contributing to building houses from scratch and remodeling dozens more, I developed a good feel for tools, and this stud finder impressed me.I've tried numerous stud finders before. They often demanded regular calibration, battery changes, and still were riddled with false positives and negatives. My house is less than 15 years old with standard wall composition, so naturally, these issues were frustrating. Any stud finder should have worked, but the 3 I had on hand did not work correctly regardless of what I tried. New batteries, recalibrating on every use, only using one hand etc all failed to give reliable results.The T13, however, brought a refreshing simplicity to the process. I can't express how much I love this stud finder! It works flawlessly. I wish I'd purchased this one a while back when trying to wall mount two TV's with a cheap stud finder. We have plaster walls and not all stud finders are created equal. This thing is a beast! Easy to use, easy to read and very accurate. I'll never buy any other stud finder again.

Its great that it can identify multiple studs in a cluster, however multiple scans of same area can have minor variations. Not as accurate as advertised. Lightly textured ceiling and normal construction debri (wood splinters, loose electrical wire nuts or nails) above ceilings gave some erroneous readings.

I used other stud finders, and sometimes, it was unclear where the "center" or the "bounds" of the stud were. Move a little to the left, beep, and a little to the right, but nothing. A little more to the right, still no beep. Did I find a stud?With a Franklin Sensors ProSensor T13, I can move the device and see the sensors illuminate. In fact, I can "wiggle" the device back and forth to find the stud accurately and identify the center. I already used the device to mount my monitor on the wall, and the process was intuitive and precise — the benefit of multiple sensors and actually "seeing" where the stud is very re-assuring.

This is the second one of these I've purchased. My first one was loaned to someone, I forgot who...and never returned. So, I purchased another one. I've used many different stud finders, and really like this one the best. It's dirt simple to use, not terribly flashy, but does a superb job. Shows you the width of the stud, so getting the best bite of whatever you're doing is easy.Again, not a lot of "bells and whistles", but superb at doing what it needs to do. Works great for both wood and metal studs (I've used it on both). I can highly recommend this brand/model, and if I lose this one I'll probably buy another.

I have purchased a few stud finders in my time and have never been satisfied with any of them, they all worked but not great. This is definitely the best stud finder I have ever seen and I am so happy with it. The way it shows you the complete stud or studs is fantastic, makes it almost fool proof to hit the stud. For me, well worth the money.

Have used plenty of stud finders before and always had issues properly detecting studs. This is definitely a bit more than my previous ones but has been 100% worth it. Have used it a lot recently and hasn't faulted once. Highly recommended.
