Got this Freeman retractable hose reel for garage use to make tire inflation on our four vehicles more convenient - previously had to drag air compressor to near vehicles. had OEM springy plastic hose which helped some but was too short. Ordered this Freeman retractable hose reel from Amazon, arrived quickly, very good price. Plastic mount holes too far apart to mount on edge of supposedly 2X4 garage wall stud, had to mount on face of stud instead - seems somewhat flimsy but so far works well. Hose reel OEM couplings are removable leaving 1/4 inch threaded fittings so could easily install vehicle tire inflation chuck on one end, other end threaded fitting, had to jerry rig to screw into the air compressor threaded female connection. Would have been easier if I had a quick attach connector on our compressor. Installed, this retractable hose reel works great - substantial hose locks at convenient lengths when pulled out, retracting loaded spring seems quite adequate, automatic hose leveling/spacing device makes retracting the hose very simple. Hose length makes reaching tires on all four vehicles easy. This Freeman hose reel is an excellent tool especially at its Amazon price.

I worried needlessly about buying a unit with a hard plastic housing rather than a metal unit. It is sturdy, easy to operate, and seems like it is built to last. It was easy to install. I mounted it seven feet off the ground on the wall above the air compressor and it was a bit awkward to do by myself because of the bulky weight of the unit. The only issue I had was that on the first time I pulled out the hose, it caught after about 16'. I tugged as hard as I thought safe, then I got up and looked inside the unit. Whoever had loaded the hose at the factory was not careful to do so smoothly and the hose was wound under itself around the spindle. Once I pried the hose out from under itself the process has been much better. The auto-guide rewind should eliminate that binding of the hose. Other reviewers were right, hold the hose securely when retracting -- the auto-guide works more efficiently when the hose is fed at a slower pace.

The reel is solid and recoil works very well. The built in feeder allows the hose to recoil without and binding or knitting of the hose. The lag bolts provided are entirely to small. After drilling out the mounting plate holes & installing larger lag bolts I am over all happy with the purchase.

Excellent reel for the money. It is not a commercial reel at a commercial price but great for homeowner or home shop use. Very smooth with a nice flexible hose. I mounted it in my garage and it is long enough to get to my cars parked in my drive. I do have to add my old hose to get to my RV for airing the tires and winterization but still easier than rolling my compressor out and putting out extension cords.My only complaint was with the universal female coupler. It was very difficult to change tools or add the extension hose while under pressure at anywhere near 90 PSI and impossible with anything over 90 PSI. The coupler could have been defective. I have also read that universal couplers can be problematic. I just changed out the female coupler to the common industrial style (M) to match my tools and it works great even at 150 PSI.

I have owned this air hose reel since 2019. I started battling with it after the first year. It has been getting steadily worse over the years. I imagine the return spring has been weakening and now it will not reel back in the last 10 feet no matter what I do. Save yourself some frustration and buy a different hose reel.

Bought this last March and it leaked 1st time at hose connection in the rotary part. Tried fixing it and it wouldn’t stay fixed so I gave up.Decided to send email to manufacturer in January documenting with photos. They responded quickly and sent me a replacement.The new unit works perfectly!They stand by their products!

THIS IS THE ONE. After lots of searching I thought this might be it... LEMME TELL YOU THIS IS IT FOR SURE. It spools side to side to assure the hose never gets clumped on one side of the reel. The hose is nice and flexible. Best type of hose. Plus the extra 15’ is HUGE. This thing stretches out to the road.. feels like 100’ !! And unlike my last reel, which snapped when I over extended it. This thing seems to have a well built bump stop system at the end of the real which you can easily feel . One extra tug and all 65’ gets sucked right back into the reel effortlessly! I LOVE IT.

This was exactly what I wanted for my garage ...keeps my hose neat and clean but handy when I need it. I will get more use out of my air compressor with this device. Well made and be sure to anchor well when you install it.

Arrived damaged with scratch and scuff marks. Looks and feels flimsy, didn't even bother to install nor use it. Returned it for a refund. Very disappointing for the price.

Good Reel, but my 65ft 1/4 hose does not supply enough air for my 1/2 inch impact Driver (does not deliver full power)I don’t know if the hose length 65’ has anything to do, but if you buy this for your air tools, consider the 3/8 hose

Ok, so I've been using this at work for 5 months tomorrow. I have had no issues with it. Glad I bought it, because it keeps the air hose up out of the way. The hose is tangle resistant and plenty long enough for my work space. Definately worth the price.

I purchase this thing on may and I only use it to check the tire pressure on my rv and vehicles. I have used it about 4 times for that purpose. Today I went to use it and discovered a small leak coming from the inside conector. Im sure its always been there but never noticed it.Really hard to fix. Now I'm stuck with an expensive leaky air hose.
