Very useful for rolling out parathas and rotis! The large diameter makes it easy on your hands. I used to have a smaller steel rolling pain that always too more effort to roll out dough. This one looks great and is of good quality.

I’ve always wanted one and should’ve bought it years ago. This rolling pin is so easy and comfortable to roll out any type of dough and is short of amazing. It’s not bulky like the traditional rolling pin and I haven’t had a problem with dough sticking to the French pin. The no handles make it easier to roll, more versatile, no stickiness, easy to wipe and store. I have so small hands and the French pin is so much more comfortable in that regard as well. It’s worth the extra money

I tried my best to get this rolling pin to work. I spent nearly 6 hours just assembling it! When I tried to use it, I realized the remote control and rolling pin didn't even include the obligatory, cheap, three-day-lifespan Chinese AAA batteries. I was exhausted at that point, so I called it a night. The following morning I walked the 7 miles to the store and bought batteries. Installing the batteries in the remote was relatively straightforward, only requiring a 1-1/4" box-end wrench and a blacksmith's vise, both of which I have in my garage. The rolling pin was another story entirely. I had to park my F350 on it and use a pipe wrench with an 8 foot length of pipe to get the damn end unscrewed to insert the batteries. What a hassle that was.Anyhow, I backed my truck off of it, picked it up and proceeded to dig the embedded bits of glass and gravel out of the wood. I brought inside again and set it on a ball of dough I had taken out of the fridge earlier. I pressed every button on the stupid remote and NOTHING HAPPENED.By that point, I was starting to get a bit frustrated. I tried to break it in half by pressing down on it over the ball of dough, but I slipped and it rolled under the weight of my hands and flattened the dough into a nice sheet. I guess I'll just use it manually from now on, since it seems to work just fine that way.Overall, I would recommend this product. It's light, easy to clean and round. It does its job as intended. It's moderately sexy, doesn't shed all over the furniture, has bright eyes, a curly tail and doesn't drool much.As soon as I take the pastries out of the oven, I'mma return the batteries and get my money back!

Love a French pin. I should've go for a darker hard wood so no splinters.

I'm stunned at how much easier it is to use than my old style with the handles. It really is a step up, and while I won't use it often, when I do, I'll look forward to it.The weight is ideal and it's easy to store. I'm very pleased with the quality and performance. I'm on a kick of making thin breads (tortillas, etc), and this makes it much easier to get a uniformly thin dough.

This is my first French rolling pin and I like it! So far I've used it for cookie dough, pie crust and pizza dough and it's worked great. Very easy to clean too.

Like the hardness and texture of this solid wood rolling pin. Provides a good grip when rolling on dough.
