I am so happy I chose this roll. I got the 11 inches one and it is long enough for bog pies and short enough to fit my kitchen drawer. The french shape does make using it more comfortable.

Easy to roll with the palm of your hand just a very nice size for smaller jobs.

7.9 inches isn't that long -- and that's what this is. So this I imagined correctly. But I didn't realize how thin this rolling pin is. I guess with the tapering it makes sense but I was really imagining it to be thicker and more hefty. This is pretty light although the build seems to be decent -- not that it would be too hard to have a solid build quality given it is literally a hunk of wood shaped to taper on both ends. Overall it does an okay job. I'll keep it around as a backup.Edit: The tapering makes it kind of difficult to use in my opinion. I thought I'd get used to it or maybe I don't fully understand how to use it, but I prefer a traditional flat rolling pin.

I love this little rolling pin, it is surprisingly useful. I use it mostly for rolling out small bits of dough, say for homemade dinner rolls. The small size makes it perfect for that. It’s easy to clean and has held up well so far over the past few months.

This is a review for French Rolling Pin. It is made from beechwood and very smooth. It is not finished in any way. There is no lacquer on this pin whatsoever. It is raw wood. Longterm use may prove this to be a good thing, or not.I've tried all kinds of rolling pins for baking. I've used American style pins, Indian pins for chapati and roti, Mexican style pins for tortillas. This French pin seems more intuitive to my hands. It fits well, it rolls well, and I can maneuver it better than any of the others above. If this works with dough as well as it works without it, I'll be retiring all those others and placing this into the revered rolling pin spot in the kitchen drawer.
