5/8" (Dia.) Double Flute Straight Bit
From the Manufacturer
These bits cut smoother than other straight bits because of the precise shear and hook angles. End of bit relief allows for fast plunging. Covered by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

Needed a 1/4" shank with a 5/8" cutter for installing shelf supports. The cut was clean and to size, typical Freud, very happy with it. I can't speak to actual time for longevity as I only cut 4 grooves, but again it's Freud and they have never disappointed for longevity in the past.

Freud has always made great bits for the money. This guy is no exception. Works perfect for the shelving bracket channels I was routing. There is no reason to spend more or less than these Freuds. They will last 4x's longer than the cheap stuff, and work WAY better. Don't bother with anything 'higher" end.....unless routers are your livlihood. For the everyday person up to professionals, these bit are all you will need.

I do work with exotic woods...some of them unbelievably dense...but THIS Freud bit "walks through it" like it's soft pine!An excellent bit from an awesome vendor! When I ordered the bit, aparently I made an error - I needed a 1/2" shank, and what I recieved was a 1/4" shank. I called them, and they very graciously just made an exchange for me, and within a few days I had the bit I needed! GREAT folks to do business with!!

Compared to Bosch brand bits these seem to stay sharper longer. I use them on treated southern yellow pine.
