Product Description

Precision Shear Serrated Edge Forstner Drill Bit 3/4-Inch by 3/8-Inch Shank

From the Manufacturer

Precision Shear Forstner Bits feature a double-ground, razor-sharp serrated edge that slices throughout the rotation of the bit for less splintering and chipping, producingflawless flat-bottom holes. This unique geomtric design has multiple cutting edges that produce greater shearing action, allowing for faster rotational speeds and more efficient cutting. Competitive forstner bit designs produce small chips and dust that collect in the cutting area, increasing friction and heat, thus causing the bit to dull quickly. Those designs also create holes with rough edges that require sanding. In addition to serrated edges, Precision Shear Forstner Bits include a hardened steel body for longer life and sharper edge, an ultra sharp spur to ensure accurate holes and less "walking", and steep angled cutting edges to produce holes that are smooth and flat.

Great quality bit. Sturdy and well made. Cuts absolutely perfectly round, clean holes. Don’t forget to tape the exit side of your wood project to prevent blowout. Happens with most any bit so this is no exception.

Nice bit. Cuts quite clean on soft and hard woods. The thicker bit eliminates drift like with spade bits.Ordered two more after getting the first.

I do guitar repairs as a hobby. Wanted to get rid of the ugly heavy neck plate and countersink bushings and screws . This bit cut nice clean holes without even chipping the thick poly coating on the guitar. Very pleased with the results.

Don't waste you money on any other brands, these are AWESOME! I've purchased 3 different sizes so far and love them. Extremely clean wholes, don't push them, let them do all the work and you will be extremely impressed. Very sharp and after hundreds of wholes they appear to be holding their sharpness extremely well.

I had tried to go cheap and get the blue brand, but I needed an exact 1/4in hole to use for a plug cutter, which had exactly 1/4in plugs. The other cutter was creating a slightly larger hole, and, naturally, was useless for my needs to hide the hole I had drilled. This Freud bit was exactly the right size, and also stayed far cooler when using, which keeps the bit sharper, and the hole more accurate, since metal expands when it is heated.

Nothing fancy. Good quality bit that cuts a clean whole. Usually can't go wrong with Freud

This bit is sharp. I drilled holes in pressure treated lumber for railing balusters and it cut through the wood like butter. Made a quick job of it. I haven't used it on hard wood yet but I'm pretty sure it would cut just as nice.

The measurements of the bit that we ordered were right on. The manufacturer of the desk where 3 legs were routed out but the fourth was only routed out a tiny bit…not as deeply as the other. We ordered this and it was perfect instead of returning the desk.

Good product. Would have been better if it was the right size, Order was for 7/8" but received 3/4". Not a lot of difference,I know, but not good when working to a size tolerance!
