Great mat but certainly a challenge to unroll. I put it in the sun, but it remained rigid feeling. Then I used a large heating pad with a heavy box on top and slid that around to each section as I “ironed out†the whole mat using that method. Now it looks almost invisible on my wood floor and the edges are nicely flat. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Got this mat for my computer/home office desk situated in the carpeted living room. It's a great improvement for my office chair wheels over being on the carpet, and was the perfect size for the width of the desk. One of the corners remained curled and pushed up off the ground somewhat for the first while, but after a month or two it's gotten back to completely flat.Only complaint is that after sitting in one place for any stretch of time, my chair's wheels start to sink in and leave an indent in the mat, and it takes some effort to get rolled out of the rut. (50 lb chair and 180lb person). The indents do go away given time, and I haven't found any signs of cracking or permanent wear, but it prevents me from smoothly rolling from one side of my desk to the other without a big push off or holding onto my desk for leverage.

I like the see through. It is almost invisible on the middle where it lays down. Cannot get the edges to lay down at all. Currently a trip hazard on the side I have to use to get to my work chair. even the side edges curl up, although not as much as the ends that were rolled. Yes, I laid it flat in direct sunlight for several hours. It was warm to the touch when I brough it in. It has been a week now. It still will not lay flat on the edges. Weighed it down overnight the first night when it would not flatten. no help. Bought 3 or 4 chair mats in my life time. First one I cannot get to lay down.

This is one of the WORST products I have ever purchased. It arrived with the box partially crushed for starters, but that was the least of the issues. The mat came rolled up as expected. It wasn't shrink wrapped, nor did it have any sort of labeling on it, which lead me to believe it was used and returned. The mat is made of such a thick plastic that if won't lay flat. Not only do the edges not lay flat, but none of the middle potion does either. It was like hard waves of plastic all along the length of it. I tried warming it up with a hair dryer as the instructions indicated. I tried putting a heavy rocking chair on it and rocking. I spent WAY too much time trying to get this to be even minimally functional. My husband cut his foot on it twice to add injury to insult. We decided to return it and it took two of us and herculean effort just to roll up that stiff mess of plastic and try and get it back into the box. My husband cut his thumb on it one last time when we were trying to roll it up. UGH! I have purchased office floor mats numerous times before. Outside of having to weigh down the edges for a day or two, I have never had the same issues I had with this mat.

First...unrolling it is like like wrestling an anaconda. Very uncooperative!I am returning this item. After a few days weighted down, it still hasn't flattened out and remains curled around the edges. Obviously, once opened the picks on the bottom embed themselves into the rug so it won't flatten.I won't open it on our wood or vinyl floor because the picks are sharp and can scratch the floor. It's winter here and no sunshine to magically flatten it.When returning it, sending it back in original packaging is impossible. It's like returning a "mattress in a box." Good luck getting it back in! It's stiff and cannot be re-rolled tight enough to reinstall the ties and put in the box.Better off to go to an office supply store and buy an already flat mat.

This mat presents as described in the product description. When it was cold, it seemed to be quite thick and strong. However, now that it has warmed up and I have it laying out flat there seem to be several slightly-raised longitudinal bulges. Shouldn't be a problem but definitely does not lie completely flat. Also, the material seems quite soft when it is warm (room temperature) so I'm not entirely sure if it will support the weight of an office chair without creating "pockets" that may trap office chair wheels. Only time will tell, I guess, because I have not installed it in its "final resting place" yet.

It was a little difficult and time-consuming to flatten this out. We ended up using a heat gun to soften up the plastic and then let it cool on a concrete floor to remain flat. Once it was flat it worked perfectly on the carpet for the rolling chairs.

This chair mat works well on medium pile carpet. It is thick with small studs on the bottom to keep the mat in place. Very tightly rolled upon delivery but the suggestion of placing the mat into the tub with hot water worked well. The only issue is the off gassing. We have had this for 4 months and it still smells very strong. Now summer is almost here I will be opening the window and shutting the office door!!

Due to the item being rolled up in a box for shipping beware it's difficult to un roll. Picks on the bottom are very Sharp so wear gloves. It was rippled when unrolled and will require heat and time to settle back flat.
