I don't have a big run of hot wire - just a little over a mile, if I add up all three strands. I use it to divide grazing areas in my sheep and goat pasture. I use light braided poly wire, but the charge has to run through about 500' of 12 gauge aluminum wire before it gets to the poly. The grass and broadleaf got very high and dense with our excessive spring rains but the fence has not shorted out (as tested by a visitor the other day - I warned him the fence was hot but apparently he didn't listen). I put the strands at 12", 24" and 48" (to keep the llamas in, too), so the bottom strand is pretty much in the weeds. This is a nice strong charger.

This is a good fence energizer. Compact in size, plenty of power (pulses measure around 5 kv). Downsides? My previous M150 model had a flashing red light that was much more visible at night than the green light on this model, and it would be nice if it were weatherproof (instructions call for indoor use only)

Have fought deer for 30 years at lake house. Used VATech 3D fence design have been deer free for 5 weeks. Fence is 500 ft long mostly on trees but some 2x2 8 ft uprights. Couldn’t be happier.

unit seems well built and east to install this is the good now the bad the unit was used it was obvious the packing was broke open cord had what looks like a rubber ban for office use! and marks on the unit and dirt on the bottom sings all lead to used and returned i keep it as i need it now so if i have issue i will be force to return a return!

Awesome charger. Think this one is 3rd or 4th I’ve had in a couple years and works awesome. I use 3 ground rods and even with grass shorting it out in spots still getting 7kv. Has a rememberable jolt. Don’t ask me how I know:)

packaging wasnt as important as needing it, it arrived and was putting out less than 3000 v fence tester barely clicked put on a solar charger the bee lady had and it cracked , so defective and had to return and went with another brand, if you cant get it right the first time, not going to try again

This fencer enables us to operate a rotational grazing through eleven pastures with only single wire electric fencing.I had difficulties with the shipping of my purchase. The DHL courier mislaid it in their system but reported it as delivered. We did get a replacement unit from the supplier.
