I was surprised at how well this digs. I did wet the soil to make it soft. But it worked through some stones (pushed it aside)

I attached it to my 21v cordless drill and it worked perfectly - even through Georgia clay, although the power in my drill wasn't really up to going very deep.

On a drill as intended makes planting bulbs a whole lot faster. Highly recommended

We have a metal trellis-like structure over a clematis plant that sits on four, round legs. As the plant has grown and its root system gotten well established it has become impossible to push the structure into the ground around the plant and have it resting securely.Looked for an earth augur that would drill a hole slightly over 1 inch in diameter for each of the structures four legs. This augur filled the bill entirely; easily drilled four holes over 8 inches deep to more securely anchor the structure. Holes drilled quickly with a garden variety cordless drill.Oh yes, the price was right, and it was delivered quickly. Thanks again Amazon for providing the source and the quick delivery with a few mouse clicks!

I have a yard full of hard compacted soil filled with stones, debris, and roots. After spending 45 minutes planting 5 salvia in the planting bed around the base of a hawthorn tree in my backyard with sweat dripping in my eyes, cursing like a drunk sailor, and bending the handle on my garden trowel, I was desperate for a better option. Enter this beautiful, affordable, high quality, auger bit. I attached it to my old faithful Milwaukee corded drill and literally five minutes later I had 9 gorgeous 4 inch wide, 6 inch deep holes in that same crappy planting bed ready for the hostas. This thing works, buy it for your garden planting!

Not sure if I was sent a broke one or what. Seem to detach off my drill every few mins. I was planting tulip bulbs last day in fall, I had to work with what I had to get project done. I’d like to try a different one to see if it was a mishap or poor quality.

What a great idea! It drills a perfect hole to place the bulbs in and the dirt removed is right next to the hole to push back in after you put the bulb in. My only advice is to experiment with which speed to run your drill at.

Disappointed that it doesn't fit my drill 😕

Good quality value easy to use, versatile and fit well into my drill. Took the hard work out of gardening and worked quickly to insert holes into the soil which was quick and saved much time.

We planted about 600 bulbs in one afternoon. Worked well in tough soil (made tons of holes in the lawn directly). It did get caught in tree roots at least ten times. The auger did not bend or brake, by the end of the day just a little of the coating rubbed off on the edges. It was used with a strong, electric drill. I had to hold the drill with both hands and pay attention to use it at controlled speed and holding it vertically. It twisted my wrist a few times when hitting the roots. I was able to free up the the drill by reversing it gently. I ordered a spare auger, same size, the length is perfect to be able to work standing. The holes were a bit small for the very large narcissus bulbs and I had to drill twice to enlarge them. I already purchased a bigger diameter auger in the same length. The neighbours were impressed too. It will be useful for multiple gardening tasks, like planting seedlings and perennials, loosening the soil and mixing in nutrients. It takes little practice to use (keeping safety in mind).

Perfect for loosening up the soils or just digging around. Actually helps so much when weeding or getting the soil ready without halling out a cultivator for small areas. Definitely helps so much.

Pairs well with my larger auger I've had for years, this makes cultivating garden beds an enjoyable and quick task.
