The other morning, I woke up and the water pressure at the sink was half it's normal pressure. There seemed to be no explanation until I went outside and discovered my outdoor faucet/spigot on full blast! A naughty neighbor with a beef I suppose. I went on a search for a solution on the Internet and this product (I got the adjustable) was it!I told a lot of people about this, and they didn't know about it. I don't know why it's called a "gate valve lockout" because a ton of people could use this on their spigots during the winter or on vacation.Well, I pulled the red plastic housing apart, reassembled it over the spigot, lined the holes up on the side and then put in a small padlock with unique key (purchased separately) and voila! the spigot is vandal-free. You can't even use the device to turn the spigot. The water spigot knob is basically in jail. LOL. Here's the padlock on Amazon: SATTRON Lockout Tagout Locks. They're red too.What a great solution to deal with vandals. Cheaper than the overnight water bill I'll eventually receive in the mail and the potential water damage to a basement. This is worth the investment!! Highly recommend!
