OK, let me start off by saying I love these. They aren't for everybody or every purpose, however. The Good:1. They don't rattle or jiggle. Once locked in place, they stay put and don't rattle. That was my biggest worry and it turned out to be a non issue.2. They are steel. This means that the threads are super strong, but it also means that they are very heavy.3. They are long. This makes it much easier to grab onto with a full fist to unscrew the base. The top has a six sided pin, so it can be easily unscrewed with a wrench if needed.4. The fit and finish is beautiful, like a fine piece of equipment.5. The price is right for the quality. The Caveats:1. I was hoping to use these on the end of a boom pole. Because they are steel, they are heavy. It adds a significant amount of weight to the wrong end of a boom pole, making it actually rather unworkable as a quick release for my boom pole.2. They are long. It adds quite a bit of length to any operation.I'll probably be buying more since I like them so much, but I would like to see them lightened up by perhaps having a lightweight titanium or aluminum version with some extra machining to lose some of the mass. I've tried a number of different mic quick releases and found these to be a good balance between price and execution.

I now just keep the mic (s) in the clip and instantly attach them to the boom. They had a solid feel and (at least for me) set up is a bit more fast and efficient.

Spinning a boom on a mic stand, especially if the boom has a counterweight, was a PAIN, trying to avoid cross-threading the screw joint. With this Gator Frameworks disconnect, I keep the boom and stand in my transport bag, and quickly set-up the mic stand and boom. I tried a cheaper disconnect, but it was not stable enough to hold a boom reliably to the stand. This is definitely worth the extra cash..

This is a well designed and well made product by Gator. It's all metal, and looks like it would hold up to the rigors of gigging and studio use. I like the idea that the insert is hexagonal vs. round, so that when a mic is "installed," it won't spin.Unfortunately, this is yet another product that can't be used with the Shure Super 55 (or 55 SH) mic, due to the design of the mic and how the XLR plugs in. The XLR plug is so close to the stand mount threading on the mic, that if this product is used, the XLR cable can't be plugged in. Bummer, as the Super 55 is my workhorse and "signature" mic for my sound company...

Use case: As a voiceover artist and remote worker, I need multiple microphones for different applications and have multiple mic stands in place (desk stand, boom arm, booth stand). Moving mics from place to place, and especially unscrewing/rescrewing shock mounts, is a big ol' pain in the butt. This product solves that problem EXCEPTIONALLY well.... if you're willing to pay. What might have taken minutes to unplug a mic, unmount the mic, unscrew the mount, rescrew the mount, remount the mic, and plug the mic back in, now takes only seconds.Like everything Gator makes, it seems overpriced, but goodness is it useful and well made. This system works really well and eliminates a ton of headaches and wasted time. Quality is good, mounts and posts are sturdy, no wobbles. I expect these to work seamlessly for a long time. I wish they were more affordable, but the actual posts (the part that screws into the microphone, not the mic stand) aren't terribly expensive. In the end, this is a luxury product - you never NEED this to make your setup go - and it's charged as such. But boy is it a useful luxury!

These are great. Everything you read about them is true. Now, you might notice after some time that they are hard to lock in place, like you need to apply a good amount of force to get the pieces to click together. Here's a tip: grab a rubber hammer and hammer the top of the socket once or twice. I'm talking about the part that goes on the mic stand. Use some strength, don't be afraid. Seems like things want to slide loose after many uses, and a rubber hammer will make them work as brand new. We've been using these at my job for about two years now. I got rid of all of the Atlas and cheaper clips and equipped all stands (probably about 60 total) and all mic clips (easily over 100) and have never looked back.

This thing is absolutely amazing.. its well build with a very clean and slick designQuick disconnect is very useful and there is no wiggle what so everVERY VERY USEFUL when you are using a mic like the Shure 55 Classic as the screw mounton the microphone have always interfered with the xlr cable connector with any swing arm youuse... so this fixes the problem by extending and giving you the opportunity to use the quick connectwhen any adjustments are needed.

When you have multiple microphones or accessories, and you don’t want to waste time unscrewing and screwing? This is in my honest opinion the best and rugged solution. Build like a tank!

Really the best connector on the market. Stable, solid and the red indicator shows when it’s lock secured
