I first purchased the old bimetal temperature style. Inexpensive but not very accurate when tested against laser temperature reader. This digital thermometer is accurate with a 1-2 degree variance with the laser temperature reader. The display is large and easy to read. And I like that it also shows the lowest and highest readings. Which is helpful in making sure that the defrost cycles are working properly. The magnet is strong and makes easy placement in the refrigerator. Just make sure that the placement is not close to one of the air vents or the reading will be too low. The middle of the refrigerator seems about right. For the freezer I used the plastic hook folded down into a stand. Again the accuracy was very good confirming a zero setting. Unlike other similar designs sold on Amazon when the battery needs replacing it will not require the removal of tiny screws and disassembly. This has a cover that simply opens with a twist using a screw driver or small coin.Longevity is unknown as I have been only using the pair for about 6 weeks.But at this time I consider them well designed and a good value. And would recommend them to others.

Sitting right next to each other in the fridge, they display different temperatures. My refrigerator is pretty new and set to 36 degrees, but display temps on these thermometers range from 34 to 40 sitting in the same spot. The differences between the two thermometers are often a few to several degrees, which matters when it comes to cold food storage. I purchased these to record temps during power outages to monitor food safety when the fridge goes out, but I can’t trust their readings. Good design but they seem potentially functionally flawed.

To read the temp, you have to crouch down to where you can peer into the fridge or the freezer to get a good look at the thermometers.We returned them in favor of a REMOTE temp display unit. Much easier.

I enjoy using this product for monitoring my humidity levels . The readings seem to be accurate although it does vary from my built in thermostat humidity readout. I only had to reset it once since I purchased them .

I needed an affordable thermometer for my second fridge after a thermostat failure ruined some food. While this product was budget-friendly, it consistently read 6 degrees colder than the actual temperature when compared to an infrared thermometer. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. I'm now looking for another inexpensive thermometer that provides accurate readings.
