Just plug it in, makes two outlet into a four. Good solid pulg and quality built. Always check your overall wattage ane dont over load your wall socket with high wattage appliances such as a electric heater and then add on some other high wattage device. I think for my use I use with my computer and wifi and printer or an LED light. perfect for that type of use because they dont use high wattage

I got this to try to reduce the clutter around one wall outlet next to the bed, and it's pretty effective for that purpose. Now we can plug everything in without having a power strip on the floor. It's not very low-profile, which you can probably tell from the picture. I like that it only takes up one outlet, which lets us expand the outlets without interfering with the other outlet which is wired to a wall switch. Probably the biggest flaw in its design, though, is that there's the bit that sticks out the middle in the back. This means that if you exert any sort of force on one of the outside plugs (pushing or pulling), the whole thing tilts in the wall socket and starts coming loose, because the extra bit in the middle acts as a pivot point.Anyway, obviously this is something that gives you 3 outlets for 1, which is useful, but it's not pretty and plugging/unplugging things is a bit of a hassle due to the pivoting, so unless you really need to save a few bucks, it's probably better to buy something that is a bit better designed.

I'm not an electrician, so if you want a detailed technical explanation on amperage, loads, fire hazards, I suggest you read HMMWV's review (which is, at the time of this review, the #1 helpful review on this product). By his account, this thing is a 5 star outlet adapter.What I can tell you is that this outlet is really heavy duty. It's not like one of those cheap ones you can get for under a buck. Rather than being hard plastic like ones I've previously owned (which can crack, melt, break), this GE adapter is manufactured with *incredibly* strong rubber as it's shell. Meaning there's no way it will ever crack or break.What I like about this item is that when plugged into the wall outlet, it stays connected relatively tightly (it's not loose where it will fall out of the socket even with devices connected to it). Also, the devices connected to it are very secure when plugged in. My devices ranged from a lamp, a wall timer, and an AC adapter when I tested it.One thing to note is that the color is *NOT IVORY*. When I think of Ivory, I think of an off-white color. The one I got was beige/khaki (like the color of standard work dress pants). I don't really care about the color but I know others might otherwise choose a different outlet adapter because of it.Finally, this adapter is a 3-PRONG. You can't tell from the picture because the prongs are facing away but I'm confirming it does have a grounded prong (meaning 3 prongs). If your outlet is ***not*** a 3 prong, this will NOT work in that outlet because it will not fit.

I bought this to make some room at an outlet in my garage. Now my sprinkler control and a timer module both fit into the same outlet. Plugs firmly in and not loose at all.

I'm happy with my 5-pack of these. With so many USB chargers, camera-battery chargers, tool chargers, and other stuff to plug in these days, the average wattage is low but the number of outlets needed is high. So, I have a row of these in a top-quality outlet strip to basically be my charging station for everything.I paid a bit extra to get these nice ones, both to spread them out a little wider, and to have it not be orange. The cost difference was negligible compared to the cost of the USB-C PD chargers I plug into them.

its functionality is determined by what type of plugs you have. A double receptacle is fine, either straight up or sideways, but if there is a light switch on the same plate as the plug ins, it will block the switch from working.
