How Generator Interlock Kits Work？

It consists of two metal or plastic plates and three bolts.

When moved down, the plate blocks the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain on.

When moved up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned on but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain off.

For those wondering as I was, this interlock works perfectly on Eaton BR panels installed with the main breaker on the bottom (upside down). The generator breaker goes on the bottom left. Easy instructions included but do not cover this application.

I ended up not installing the zip ties, no pictures in instructions, so I didn't really know how to properly install them. Adding some additional pics/graphics in instructions would help.
