Works just as advertised. Watch your fingers because this thing gets super HOT! I used it to remove a vinyl wrap from a vehicle and it loosened the adhesive very well.Almost instant heat and I can’t imagine needing any more heat for general use around the house.

I'm new at using heat shrink bags and I was making a ton of gift baskets. I was using a blow drier but the wind was making the bags flap up and ruining them. So I finally gave in and bought this.It's excellent! Works fast and effectively.. Be VERY careful because the metal parts get super hot and they will melt through anything you put them down on.

Initial use of this product, I thought I would have return it as it smoked a lot after the first few uses and smelled as if it was burning in or around the heating element. I assumed that it was oil and/or debris from the manufacturing plant and might eventually stop so i continued to use it. The smoking did stop and heat gun worked as expected. I'm happy about the 2 year warranty, however, it is getting 4 stars due to the misrepresentation given that it was powerful enough to lite charcoal. I tested that and it does not get hot enough to lite charcoal. Other then that, this was a good purchase for me.

I bought this knowing that it would be used for many different applications, but the immediate one was to restore the plastic cladding on my Chevy Avalanche which had faded into a dull grey, and stuck out like a sore thumb with the factory black paint. I saw youtube videos that showed that this was far more effective than buying and applying liquid lies.I couldn't for the life of me find anything in my garage to hang this thing on, so I knew the error of my ways when I could smell my trash bin lid melting. Be sure to have a hook or nail to hang this on, so that you don't destroy the first thing you set this on like me.It's light, it's really light, I didn't expect it to work, I looked inside the box for the rest of it. But sure enough, it made me a believer. It has two settings, Hot, and Really Hot. I used the Really Hot setting for the plastic cladding, and followed a swirling pattern like my Master Miyagi instructed me to. The results are in the pictures I am attaching to my review. This can easily be used for other plastic parts on various vehicles, but test in a small area which you can really mess up and not get yelled at by the wife because it looks dumb.A heat gun has many purposes, tinting windows, shrink wrapping/window sealing, removing caulk, loosening glued on items, and as you can see, automotive plastic restoration, done mostly sober. I purchased this to heat plastic storage boxes before cutting holes in them for Feral Cat Shelters. The plastic boxes cut much easier if heated first. Rather than use a hair dryer, I wanted an actual heat gun. I'm passionate about Community Cats and enjoy building shelters for them!! Heat gun works well.!

I must say I am quite pleased with this purchase. I have tried many other heat guns before that just did not pack the punch that this one has. This has dual temperature settings for 750 w. And 1500 watt basically 572 degrees Fahrenheit and 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with four tips that can be used for many different things including paint scraping, applying heat shrink, and wood burning. This does not appear to get overly hot in the handle and base. it does seem to be quite contained to the tip. It does have a seat which is flat against the back so it will not catch anything on fire when it's not in use. This does come with a pretty decent instruction manual. In regards to the tips they seem to fit extremely snug and take a little bit of effort to actually get removed which is great because you don't want them flying off while it's in use. This gun is made in China but backed by a company here in the United States. This product does conform to UL standard 499 . I am surprised on how high quality this actually is for a Chinese product. Most of them are cheap look cheap and are made out of cheap materials with this product you can tell that there was a lot of thought and workmanship behind the quality of this item. It is not overly heavy and does have a decent feel to it. It does have a very powerful blower in it which was another thing I was quite surprised about. Although I have only use this twice I will say that it does heat up rapidly quick which you would expect from any heat gun and does cool down relatively quick. Check back in about a month and I will update this review regarding its longevity and my opinion on if it will be worth it to use as a daily use or even by daily use heat gun. So far I am quite impressed with this unit and I am giving it 5 Stars across the board. As I am using this as a daily use heat gun I am going to put it through extreme test as most of the use is going to be for wood burning and applying heat shrink

One of the arms on my eyeglasses snapped off right at the hinge screw. I had a new pair of glasses being made so I saw a video of how to repair it with a heat gun and shrink tubing. I needed something to help me secure it while I waited for my new glasses. I ordered this Genesis heat gun after reading the reviews on amazon. I also got some shrink tubing from amazon. I had never used a heat gun before but the directions made it simple. I did a test to get familiar with the operation of the gun. It worked just like I had hoped it would. In a matter of seconds the arm of my eyeglasses was attached. The heat gun features that I like were: 1.) The two temperature settings. 2.) The length of the cord. 3.) The way the gun is designed to safely stand up after each use to cool. These guns, by nature, generate a lot of heat and safety is important. The instruction s make this point clear. I am totally satisfied and will be using this product for other projects in the future. And, best of all, THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

Aunque no esperaba mucho de esta pistola debido a su precio, me lleve una grata sorpresa cuando no solo calienta super rápido, tiene buena potencia y se siente de buena calidad, y las boquillas ajustan perfectamente, la uso para varios proyectos de electrónica y algunos trabajos varios de plomerÃa, electricidad, etc. y le he exigido mucho y no me ha fallado.!muy buen producto por un excelente precio!

Amazing for the price doesn’t break and isn’t finicky the turning on switch is kinda weird the way it works when you turn it off you can press too hard and turn it on the opposite side on the other power setting on both sides low or high you can accidentally switch to when trying to turn it off but other then that it’s light works amazing gets hotter then 180*C it will burn you if you touch the nozzle I touched it unknowingly and thought what I was heating up touched me and looked like melted plastic but the gun nozzle touched me and instantly melted my skin I’m a guy who can handle myself so I thought it was plastic so I grabbed at it to pull the melted plastic off but I pulled my melted skin off and that’s when I realized it was my skin do not let kids use this AT ALL even with an adult watching unless they have severe hand and face and chest arm leg entire body protection but the kid would probably overheat in the suit you’d have to wear I still use it without gloves or a jacket because I learned my lesson but this goes to show it’s a hard working tool NOT A TOY but works as intended and is to be treated like so no matter the ignorance or anything this thing does what it’s supposed to 5 out of 5 would buy again or recommend

At first a bit of smoke came out after light usage - I Assume some leftover plastic or dust was in there from manufacturing. Now it works great - reaches operating temp in 2 seconds, GREAT for heat shrink on the low settings. Unbelievable value.The back of the gun has no vents, so you can stand it up so the hot air goes straight up, set it to low and shrink wrap things with two hands without holding the gun. Great design. Very happy with purchase.

Buena pistola de calor para uso ligero. Para tareas domésticas o de trabajo leve es excelente con dos temperaturas. Sus cuatro boquillas son aditamentos muy útiles y el cable es de un largo adecuado. Liviana, pero se aprecia de buena manufactura y apariencia.
