We installed the Ghost Controls heavy-duty dual solar gate opener system. Terrific setup for our needs. Excellent customer service. After installing solar, we decided to hard wire AC converter to charge battery for our application. Flexibility is nice and can always switch back to solar, if needed. Programming and controls are very well planned and install was straightforward.Depending on your application, you may need to fabricate a solution for post mounting brackets if your square posts are less than 4â€. Would be very helpful if Ghost Controls had smaller bracket options, especially if gates are lightweight. System working flawlessly for us.Keypad purchased and installed to facilitate easier access for guests and contractors. Like other products, straightforward assembly and programming, with ability to customize for your application.Great value for the money.

Super simple to install, especially with the optional bracket for a post mount. I put a 4x4 in the ground, bolted the bracket to the post, and screwed the keypad to the bracket. Done! Programming isn’t too difficult. Only thing I’m curious to see is how long the two C batteries last.

It worked great and then stopped working and had to call Tech support. they straightened it out and works great now.

The keypads worked wonderfully, once we figured out how to program them. The instructions left some confusion, because they called for pushing the "program button" which seemed to be the party button from the instructions, but which was in reality a very mush smaller and different type button from all the others, and it would have been helpful if this was pointed out or explained in the instructions. Once that became evident, the programming went fine, but up to that point nothing worked.

The design, ruggedness and ease of installation are right up to the ghost controls standards (I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve purchased and installed from them: highly recommend for the price), however the fact that it needs two ‘C’ cell batteries seems ridiculous to me. It’s an obsolete battery size and they don’t come in a lithium equivalent. So, since it runs off 3V anyways I ended up converting it to use two 18650 lithium cells in parallel with a new holder. They fit great and it works fine still, except now it should work better in sub-zero temps here in Canada, unlike alkaline batteries. Plus I can pull them and recharge as necessary. That’s why 4 stars not 5.
