It worked well but for a very short time. So we didn’t find it to be a very good tool. Should last longer, like a shovel or a rake does.

Disappointing from the start. After easily removing the tool from the shipping container, it was wrapped and taped with a plastic wrap that disintegrates as you cut it open. Small grass-like plastic sticks to everything statically. Traces of it are all over my clothing, floor, and everywhere I've been...hard to clean up and get rid of. The tool handle is made of inferior aluminum with a filthy oil-protective finish that stained my hands and clothing. My hands cleaned up easily, but not sure whether it will come out of clothing.As for the tool itself, the plugger is cheaply made and I'm sure it will break easily. We live in Florida where our soil is sandy, yet I am still unable to step on the plugger and penetrate the soil. It is worthless and way too expensive. Not recommended at all. I rated it 1-star only because a "zero" was not an option. Merchandise return initiated, just waiting for UPS return pickup.

Directions is assure ground is wet before use. Welding is interesting. But sturdy metal construction on shaft

Love this product! Made my planting task so much easier!! It’s ruggedly made, but does the job! Digs the perfect hole with very little effort, & pushes dirt back in the hole just as well. Great idea!

It works as described. Doesn't always pull up the cut plug. Decent function, but the handle deformed while trying to cut a sod plug from tough soil. Lasted a bit under two years, don't expect this to be a long-term tool. There are better options.

I bought this to tackle onion grass in my yard, i.e., I'd take a plug of grass out of the yard containing the onion grass stalk and bulb, pull the unwanted bulb/stem out from the dirt at the bottom of the plug, and plop the plug back into the hole. Worked great for a little while--much better than pulling the above ground stalk, which just leaves the bulb in the ground, or digging a big hole to get the whole weed (bulb and stem) out. However, the thing is put together with cheap, poorly done welds as you can see in the photos. It has no strength left for me to push down from the top--the whole thing bends. I wish someone could take the concept (including the part you step on to push the grass plug out) and built it to last. :

I am very pleased at how heavy and well built this thing is. I just slam it down and twist and the foot lever pops them right out . It’s best to use after a rain or when the soil is moist. Enjoy.

It cuts a clear round plug even in St Augustine grass and gets plenty deep to bring the roots along for successful planting. I watched my father plant a yard with a hatchet. He always dreamed of something like this. Highly recommend!

Really live this product. It is easy to use and saved my back this year planting bulbs. Our soil is clay and hard to get into with a hand tool for bulbs. This tool made my day. I planted 50 bulbs with ease. I used to dread planting bulb. This really saved my knees and back.

This works but is ugly and crudely made. Welds are obvious, foot pedal bends under pressure and it gives me the sense it will rust out quickly. It did help me get the planting done but not without having to bend the foot pedal back into position. I guess it was cheap for a reason. I would encourage the maker to up his game.
