This is a great planting tool. I have a tulip bulb planter that is like an inverted cone, which pulls up a plug of earth, but I like this design better. It's easier to dig into the ground, and makes a large enough hole to plant smaller bulbs (as opposed to canna lily or elephant ear tubers).The shaft is metal, nicely pointed at the bottom, and even comes wrapped in a protective film. The handle is wood, and has a nice feel to the grip.I plan to plant lots of bulbs this fall, and this will be very handy!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much this tool helped me with planting. Until I ordered this, I would stick my finger in the dirt to make the hole, and while that works, I was surprised at how much better this tool did than my finger. Sometimes the dirt is more compact and harder to poke through, and this tool did it with ease. I knew it would be difficult to see the markings, so I used a sharpy marker to help, but even that wore off after only a couple holes. I can definitely say my only complaint is that the markings arenรขโฌโขt clearer, but the tool itself is wonderful!

Dissapointed. This would have been a great tool, but it appears that the screw used to keep the metal end attached to the wood is way too short. It fell apart upon first use. Not able to fix it. Had to return it.
