This mattock was simple to assemble and was used immediately in our large organic garden. I needed to remove soil to level out an area under some of our garden fence sections, and it was great to quickly get under the long grass (and some weeds) in the area. I also used it to dig a few trenches for 4" drainage pipes/corrugated tubing that I ran through the garden. It's well made and the fiberglass handle is much better than the wooden-handled version I previously owned.

This was a less expensive option when I was searching for digging tools. Usually cheaper items are made with softer metals and do hold up over time. This item seems to be made better and has continued to hold up so far. Nice item and a good price .

Full size pick-axe with strong handle and good weight. Works as well or better than any pick-axe that I ever had before.

There is no bonding of the pick to the shaft. Zero. It comes in two pieces, no bolts and no straps to join the two pieces, nothing lol. My god. So I went caveman and strapped it together like they did in the stone age. I think it should work. Hope it doesn't slip and bounce off the ground.

It's solid, lighter and stronger than wood, and priced right. Can't beat it!

The head looks like it is good quality. The plastic handle is very flexible, and very small diameter is, about the right size for a young child. The handle is also slippery.I didn't break it, but after flexing about 4 inches, I thought it was about to break.
