Arrived in Chinese language but I was easily able to adjust to English based on icon images available. Once I got the language changed it was so easy to navigate and set up. It performed well and I did not experience and misfires. Price is average compared to alternative options. Size is small and lightweight. I also like that it’s a rechargeable item and doesn’t require batteries.

Size is small and does what the older triggers do plus the new feature ( connect to new lights using one button). This is my second one, first one only triggered in hand and not thru the horseshoe.

I was actually surprised at how small the X3 is! It was very easy to figure out how to operate, even without reading the manual.I contacted Godox, they say there is a plan for a firmware update to allow the X3 to operate with a Sekonic L858 light meter with Godox trigger. (There's instructions in the manual already!)This replaces my R2Pro very nicely. My first few shoots went off without a hitch! It's so much smaller and lighter than my other trigger. I'm glad I made the purchase!

Works flawlessly with a Nikon D7000 and three speed lights. Takes a little to set up, but great.

Godox X3-N at firmware V1.06EDIT ** June 2024 : I have encountered issues with the TCM not working correctly with a Nikon Z6ii and a Godox AD400 Pro. The AD400 exposes correctly in TTL, however, when the power setting is copied to manual the AD400 PRO overexposes by approx 2/3 of a stop . Hopefully this can be addressed with a firmware update, until then rating reduced from 5 stars to 4 stars. ** EDITThis is a small trigger compatible with the range of Godox (and Flashpoint) strobes and flashes for Nikon DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras . Tested on Nikon Z6ii and Nikon D780.First some notes from the manual:1) Not water resistant2) Manual says “Lithium battery has limited lifespan and will gradually loose its charging capacities which is irreversible. Battery lifespan estimated to be 2-3 years . If battery life significantly decreases consider replacing the battery†which is not user replaceable“Warranty period 1 year but consumables (such as batteries) … are not covered by the warrantyâ€.Yes thats not great. If the device only lasts 2-3 years I will be disappointed. However, I've had enough of AA batteries leaking and destroying equipment so am very happy with the internal Li-Ion battery and the small size of this X3 trigger.Charging is via USB-C , :) , and can also receive firmware updates via USB-C. The supplied cable is USB-A to USB-C and no power brick included. One con for me is that the X3 is significantly slower to start up via a press and hold button, compared to other Godox triggers, which are almost instant on when you flick the switch. This matters when setting or checking background exposure without the flash before using the flash for the main subject. The X3 can be reset by holding in the wheel button and the test flash button , then powering on. I've not needed to do this yet , but important to know in the field , as you can't pull the battery.Unlike the newer Godox Pro triggers the X3 does not include bluetooth, and can not be used with the Godox phone app. Also, there is no AF (autofocus) lamp for DSLRs : the old style AF lamps don't work with mirrorless cameras , but a little white light or a green light might have been nice to have, especially with the inbuilt battery. Also the little X3 does not have any 3.5mm or 2.5mm sockets for triggering other devices. The touch screen glass is flush to the top of the device so I expect it to get scratched. However , the trigger includes a very nice travel pouch for protection - all triggers should have something like that. The device works well and the touch screen is good although I prefer using the side wheel and push buttons , as occasionally I would change power levels when attempting to swipe to the menu.Things I noticed:In auto zoom, the mm are not shown on the trigger or the Godox V1N once they are adjusted.TCM, the transfer of the TTL setting to Manual power , works really well. In the chosen group, select TTL and take a shot, then press to change to Manual power and thats it !For Nikon front curtain or HSS are shown on the trigger. Rear curtain sync can be set from the i menu on the camera, and works,. The little 3 arrow icon on the X3 trigger changes correctly, although the X3 menu still shows as Front curtain selected. The X3 comes with another significant price hike compared to other Godox triggers. However, for the reduced size and the inbuilt battery I think it is worth it , even if some features have been lost.I have listed many issues or differences , because I think it is important to know these upfront. For me they are not significant negatives, but they may be important for your use case. Hope this helpsRecommended 5/5

I recently picked up the Godox X3-N Touchscreen TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for my Nikon, and it has been a game-changer for my photography. Priced at around $90, this device offers a lot of value. Although it was a bit hard to find and came without instructions, I managed to figure it out and was up and running in no time. The X3-N’s advanced 2.4GHz Godox Wireless system provides seamless and reliable control over my lighting setup. The spare channel scanning function prevents interference from other users, ensuring smooth operation. The wireless sync feature is impressive, allowing me to connect effortlessly to my Godox lighting. The two-way TCM is a fantastic feature, letting me switch between TTL mode and Manual Mode with ease. This versatility is perfect for adapting to different shooting scenarios. Whether I'm using the intuitive touch screen or the tactile buttons, the user interface is sleek and efficient. Adjusting settings is straightforward, even with gloves on during cold shoots. The robust hotshoe design makes mounting easy and protects my camera’s hotshoe. The high-definition OLED touchscreen is a standout feature, offering a vivid, high-contrast display that’s easy to read in any lighting condition. Adjusting the screen brightness with a simple swipe ensures I always have a clear view, whether I’m shooting indoors or out in bright sunlight.Overall, the Godox X3-N is a reliable and robust flash trigger that enhances my photography experience. An STG Synergies BTN Enterprises Review!

This Godox trigger is a huge improvement over their older triggers. The improvement isn’t even about the touchscreen. The user interface is much more intuitive now. Adding groups and adjusting power makes sense. The most difficult thing was finding how to change the channel. It is buried in the Wireless section of the Settings menu.I love that you don’t necessarily need to use the touchscreen. The inclusion of a dial on the side allows you to rotate through things. It charges by USB-C, so no more carrying around batteries. Unfortunately, this also means you may need a backup trigger or battery pack to charge it at events. I haven’t drained it yet, so I can’t say how many shots it can do at full power before draining.Overall, I am quite happy with this.

This X3N trigger is replacing my XProN. The XProN display was difficult for me to read & got in my way sometimes. The smaller size and clear display are great. I am concerned that the battery will force an upgrade if it dies. I see it is not user replaceable. We will see. Compatible with my X1 receiver and lights.
