Made of three plies of laminated plastic-black/white/black-it includes a nickel-plated mounting bracket and screws. The pick guard elevates the hand to the correct playing position and prevents damage to the instrument's top.

Tricky to install if you don’t know what you’re doing and don’t have the proper tools. I installed it on a Gibson F5G with no problems.

Mounting pins are already installed, which makes using this product on certain instruments difficult. The mounting post block was not square with the threads. A difficult part to install as you need to feel the kerfing inside the body of the instrument with a wire to drill the mounting post hole. It would have been nice if some instructions were included.

The Pickguard itself was ok but the advertised "gold" mounting hardware was actually silver and did not match the gold trim scheme of my mandolin, there is no mounting instructions with the pickguard and it would be very helpful if mounting instructions were provided
