I got the 1.25" hitch insert for a Subaru hitch. It's plastic. We know it's plastic so it isn't going to be super sturdy. It seems flimsier than it actually is. When inserted in the receiver it stuck out about three inches. and seemed kind of cheap. I just left in there, drilled holes through the existing hitch holes through the insert and put the zip tie through them to fasten the insert to the hitch. Easy enough fix but there should be some additional holes pre drilled in the shaft of the inert for easier adaptation.

The plastic rod that fits into the trailer hitch tube is a little loose. I used a little grease. This not only prevents any rattle but also protects the trailer hitch tube. Vaseline would work well. The plug has a button that pops into the hole in the hitch tube and holds the plug in place. The plugs neck is less than an inch longer than necessary, but it does not really matter. The flag end of plug does not reach the bumper. There is no reason it needs to be flush. The plug slips in and out easily and looks nice. There is no need to hold it in place with a wire tie.

Fits perfectly in my 2020 F 150 hitch. No rattles. Came with cable ties to help prevent theft
