I didn't want to replace the whole scratching post for the sake of one worn out section, so I ordered this green sisal rope to redo the shredded portion of my cat's cacti scratching post. I cut away the old sisal, removed it, and used Liquid Nails adhesive to attach the new sisal. I secured both ends of the replaced rope section with some tape, and waited for it to dry before presenting it to my cat.She loves it just like before, and is scratching it in earnest. As other reviews have stated, it does have an odor when you unwrap the packaging. But all natural fiber rope does, and the smell dissipated in a couple days. The other thing to note is that the green is a little darker than what was on the post previously. That doesn't really bother me, though, since it blends together really organically. I would buy this again, however, I still have about half the rope left after repairing the midsection, so I should be set for at least one more repair with what I've got.

Nice product. It does smell a blend of something between a diesel and cat pee (no seriously, but not so bad that you can't stand it. The cats don't seem to mind the smell, they actually like it). The cord is a nice green color and when I did the math, versus the actual application, it turned out that I needed twice as much as calculated. The second order took much longer to arrive (like around 10 days) So, the cats had a half-made tree until that time. The end product looks bran, new. I am pleased, and so are the felines, a win win.

I bought my cats a cactus scratching point, and they WENT IN on it. The scratching post itself was still in great condition, I purchased this and hot glued it on to the post, it is a different shade of green compared to the previous twine, but it’s sturdy and looks nice!

My cats love their cactus pole so much that they shredded it. Oh well, time to chuck it …. Wait! I can re-build it! (Or recover it) So, I turned to my trusty Amazon app and found this sisal rope in 3 seconds. Perfect color and texture! (The smell right out of the plastic was a bit strong but I put it in the garage for a day and the smell dissipated.Under the watchful eyes and deadly claws I set out to repair this little pole. The old rope came off easily enough and no blood was spilt from the overly involved claws who wanted to help. I secured the beginning of the rope with some staple gun action and used a little wood glue on the base for adhesion. (Just a little. Don’t go crazy.) soon enough the pole was covered and a few more staples fixed the end. To avoid any stabby stabs from the staples I made sure to hammer them a bit so they were in deep.My cats have greatly appreciated the new rope to shred. The blurry before picture makes the rope look like a skirt. It was not! The clear picture is about a month post resurfacing. It hasn’t fallen apart which I take pride in.Your cats will approve. Mine did.

The smell was really strong and we left it outside for a day before bringing it inside. If you only need a little bit, you'll be ok but we repaired posts for a kitty center and used the entire roll so the fumes were too much. Also, the color bleeds so your hands will be green by the time you're done. That said, it's a good deal and pretty, and the kitties got re-roped towers.

I haven't even gotten to put it up onto the cat tower yet as the cat immediately claimed it and keeps attacking it every time I get it out (as pictured).I've seen reviews on other ropes say they have a chemical smell and this one didn't have a smell and was a good size wheel.I'm sure when I eventually get to add it to the tower it will be great but in the mean time the cat still loves it.

Works great! Thicker than the original sisal that came on the cat tree, and hasn’t shed at all yet. Didn’t have the weird smell that some people were experiencing. Will buy it again when needed!
