Tried to use in a boat cover. By 3 Rd grommet the grommet wrench broke. This thing is great on home projects just not for heavy duty thick materials.

I had 7 lightweight polyester flags/banners to hang in my shop. Very thin material, the kind you can almost see through. And I had one 'real' flag, with three layers of thin cotton material. All these flags had grommets on one side, but I needed them at each corner. So, I had to install 16 grommets.I did the lightweight flags first, and I'm glad I did! The tool seemed to work OK at first, with the first three or four flags working perfectly. By the 7th flag, the grommets weren't getting pressed together completely, and were a bit loose.It gave up completely on the last flag, with the grommets not even staying together...as soon as you'd open the tool, both halves would fall out.What happened is this...the part of the tool that holds the top of the grommet was bending a little bit every time you squeezed the handle together, and each time it would stop a little shorter from fully closing and crimping the grommets together. By the 15th grommet, it was unusable! It is completely worthless, and now I've got a bag full of grommets and no way to crimp them together!I would give this zero stars if I could.
