I prefer light gauge strings to fingerpick on smaller-bodied instruments and medium gauge for a thicker single string tone on dreadnaught-sized guitars. In either case I’m not a fan of new string “brang-iness†and can’t wait for it to wear off. I’ve used D’Addario Phosphor Bronze strings for decades and am happy with them, aside from their brand new tone. I’ve tried other brands on occasion but I have a really low tolerance for acoustic strings that don’t sound or feel right to me.I put these on my Martin OM-1 from the 90’s and was immediately struck by their slightly played-in feel and the lack of excessive brightness or noticeable coating. These strings immediately hit my sweet spot for string life: after the unnaturally bright tone wears off but still with plenty of life in them.I fingerpick with bare fingers and very short nails, and prefer a warmer, “fleshier†tone. These strings respond well over the soundhole and back by the bridge where I can get all the high end I need. I also play with a soft touch and like that these strings have a rich full bottom end with good definition that doesn’t require hard playing to draw out.String tension for a light gauge set on a fourteen fret Martin scale is very comfortable and certainly less tight than a dreadnaught.I’m fortunate to have multiple guitars that I keep in various tunings, so breaking strings while retuning is a rare thing (unless I’m repairing a guitar and need to retune multiple times over a short period).Overall these strings are a nice surprise and the first really serious challenge to my D’Addario loyalty in many years!

I could not resist the value of this 2-pack of guitar strings from zachary... And they are a much better deal than I was hoping for. Decent quality with the well-balanced sound you would expect from a more expensive set of strings. If you are new to the acoustic guitar, this is the string gauge you want. I would guess that over 90% of all new acoustic and acoustic/electric guitars are shipped with 12–53-gauge strings. The extra-light or custom gauge strings would be a little easier on your newbie finger tips, but there will be a noticeable sacrifice in the fullness of sound.I have been pick'in at a guitar for more than 60 years... And like most guitar player that have been at it for a while, you will eventually have your favorite "name brand" strings. I am not a professional, but I do play every day. I have a few guitars in my collection, and the ones that I play most often will get a string change about every 2 months. I always look for deals on strings to keep the cost down. For casual front porch play or for bedroom practice this zachary 2-pack is all good.

These Zachary strings are totally decent. My name is Zachary, and because I'm an eight year old at heart, I decided to give these a try. They are holding tune very well on the fourth day, not leaving any residue on my fingers, and have a nice, rich PB sound. I'm impressed.

Some "value" strings I've purchased in the past come in unsealed (or at least not airtight) packaging, allowing the wound strings to oxidize which affects their sound. This item comes with two sets of strings, each in an airtight bag inside a cardboard pouch like traditional strings. They sound good to my ear, and I was pleased that they offer both .010 and .011" options in addition to the more common .012" size. I find these much easier to play now that I'm older.

I have bought a LOT of different types of cheap strings, and these are comparable to the cheapest. When you buy strings around the dollar mark off of places like ebay, aliexpress, etc. you get strings that look and feel identical to these. They are a bit shorter than name brands of similar pricing, and they don't look or feel like phosphor bronze, but the color is more pure copper. I don't think these strings are good quality for the cost, and they sound comparable to any other dirt cheap string on the market. They will function in most guitars, but any with a floating bridge and tailpiece, these are too short.

These Zachary acoustic guitar strings offer excellent value for the price. As a casual home player, I needed a budget-friendly option, and these strings delivered. While they may not have the premium tone of higher-end strings, they produce a balanced and acceptable sound ideal for practice and casual playing. I was pleased with how well they hold their tuning after the initial stretching period. Restringing was easy, and the two-pack is a convenient bonus. For beginners, intermediate players, or anyone needing a reliable backup set, these Zachary strings are a solid choice. They're a cost-effective way to keep your guitar strung and ready to play without breaking the bank. If you're not a professional musician and just need strings for everyday enjoyment, these are definitely worth considering.

I needed to replace the old Gibson strings on my Alvarez home practice guitar. These seem to be good quality, and reflect a good value. I was also doing some setup work on the guitar, and these are perfect in case something went wrong.Sound is good, they tuned easily and seem to be holding tune thus far. The build quality is good, and they sound good on this particular guitar.Sliding is not bad, some fret noise, but I like that myself. There are two sets in the package. Within that package are two packages containing a complete set of strings in each one. They are wrapped together, so pulling an individual string is hard to do. I prefer them individually packaged, but it is not a show stopper overall.I can recommend these for the home player, but I am also not so particular that I wouldn't play them anywhere.
