High quality finish, no dents, or scratches, and as received were very flat. My original plan was to sand down the the beveled edges of the plastic cover, and glue the veneer on the back, then paint it Cherry Red to match the back of my guitar. IMO these aren't technically veneers at all as they are 5/64" (2.0 mm) thick. Well, that's the thickness the cover is supposed to be, so I cut it to size and painted it as shown (still need to add a clearcoat), and I have two more pieces to use in the future.

Used these to make neck shimsfor a couple of guitars. They are sold wood with a smooth finish. Perfect to cut and file into shims.Probably good for other project uses as well.

it is maple, hard enough and easy to work onhowever they came 2.2 mm thick, and this is too much for neck adjustmentsi had to sand it down and take almost 0.4 mm till i got the right sizethey should sell 1.5 mm instead

I honestly am not sure if what I received is actually maple but I’m no expert. But what I’m sure of is the how awful this smells. As soon as you open the package you get hit a strong chemical odor that takes awhile to fade.

It will need lots of sanding to remove sawing marks.

This will work well for neck shims too.
