I wanted to secure myself and keep my safety tool next to my bed for immediate reach. At first, I got a very simple, inexpensive coded lockbox. I liked everything about it until I tried to get the tool and make it ready to use in complete darkness. Turns out, that's nearly impossible. And what is the point of having a tool if it can't be used when necessary?This safe makes it trivial to operate in even a complete blackout: the code buttons and the fingerprint sensor are dimly lit, so is the interior of the safe once it is open. There is not enough light to alert the intruder of your actions, but enough to get your tool ready.The ease of operation, once the safe is programed correctly, is great: just dial in a 4 digit pin, or press your finger on the reader. The fingerprint reader is not the most precise one out there, but here is a trick: scan the finger you want to use multiple times, as different fingers. After scanning my index 3 times, opening the safe is now a breeze.I've put the safe into a bedside cabinet drawer. There is a cable inside, that allows to secure the lockbox to furniture or fixtures - as I was able to do with the inside of the cabinet. One other hint: the box opens with a sharp snap, so make sure that the lid path is clear - otherwise you'll give away your position or status with unwanted noise.Preparedness and stealth are significant parts of a tactical win. This lockbox allows me to achieve that with my tools accessible and ready when I need them, without too much noise or light.

When I first got this product almost a year ago, everything seemed fine. Given the low price, I would have rated it 4 stars initially. It was durable, and the fingerprint scanner sort of worked. It typically recognized my fingerprint within three attempts, which I found acceptable at first. However, for a gun safe, this level of performance is concerning. A safe like this should unlock instantly, every time. Having to press it multiple times before it worked is unacceptable and could be life-threatening in an emergency.To address the issue, I registered the same finger in multiple orientations, hoping to improve the scanner’s accuracy. While this helped a bit, the fingerprint scanner still failed to work on the first try consistently. For a jewelry or valuables safe, a delay like this might be forgivable, but for a gun safe, it absolutely isn’t.Now, let’s talk about why this is ultimately a one-star product. After less than a year of regular use, the product is completely unusable. The screen has essentially fallen off, and I’ve had to replace the batteries five times. The fingerprint scanner and code no longer unlock the safe. The system acknowledges the input with a click, but the door remains locked. The only way to open the safe now is with the key, rendering the fingerprint and code features completely useless.At this point, it’s no better than a $20 key-operated safe. The key selling point of this product—quick and reliable access—has completely failed. Worse still, the safe is falling apart from basic, normal usage. It’s always been kept on the floor, never dropped, and primarily opened using the fingerprint scanner, yet it’s already deteriorating.Overall, this is a terrible product. I recommend investing in a higher-quality safe or opting for a basic key-operated one. With this, you truly get what you pay for, and in this case, it’s not worth it.

I liked the safe. My 45 acp fits nicely with 2 clips. Came with two keys. Only problem is the battery life is short. I put 4 energizer max batteries in and they are dead in 2 days. Batteries aren't cheap. Kinda defeats the purpose if you need to open it quickly to get your gun out and find out the batteries are dead and you have to use the key. I just quit putting batteries in it. But I have to keep my keys put up so nobody finds them obviously. Otherwise it works. Just wish there was a way to plug it in.

This brand adoreal safe gun box, it's amazing, easy to set up, there's a video to follow to set up everything like password, finger prints etc, it's simple and also there's a spare lock key. Plus it's a seamlessly welded steel, so it's safe. I recommend this product and for the price is good.
