This is perfect easy to install on metal roof and seems to work. Haven't had or normal heavy snow yet but once we do I'll update this review if it needs it.

This heat cable is made of heavy wire with a good heavy coating on the outside of the cable. It runs on standard 110 v outlets and can be put on a timer if needed. The shape of the cable is oval about like romex wire but is more flexible. This looks and feels like a good quality heat cable that hopefully helps preserve my gutters.

My steel roof tends to collect snow at the edge of the roof, where it backs up and eventually turns to ice. This heat cable will melt the snow and prevent such build-up that causes ice dams. Indispensable for your safety, recommended.
