So I travel a lot and with checked bags. They have maximum weight limits and I exceeded them once and it was $100 mistake. So I built a spot in my garage where I can hang a pulley from a truss and hook this onto a cable over the pulley. Then I built a small lift deck that was the size of my containers and connected the lift deck to the scale via some eye hooks and rope loops. Now I lift the deck about 6" off the ground zero the scale then put my container on and then start adding things to my container until I get to 50lbs. don't forget to check to see if any corner of the lift deck is touching the ground, if so shift the weight around on the deck to get all corners suspended in the air.Now at the curb side bag check it's right on the 50lbs ever time. It also reads the same as theirs so either theirs is calibrated and "so is mine" by them reading the same to 1/10 of a pound, or theirs is off and so is mine by the same amount, either way it works GREAT and no more unexpected $100 charges!Wish I bought this before my bag was too heavy! And don't worry about how heavy your ropes and lift deck are because it has a maximum load of something like 1000lbs. so your deck and apparatus could weight 900+ pounds and still be zeroed out and lift the 50lb container.Oh yeah and don't forget to remove the scale so it's not under load when you don't use it. That could impact it's accuracy.

It works wonderfully, we use it for weighing our deer, before and after dressing them out

This scale has to be reset without the weight on it. Which means you have to lower the thing being weighed every time it shifts or moves. Very difficult to use.

Scale is okay with light weight of couple hundred pounds but scale will ERROR out with weight over ~550 lbs.

I needed a heavy-duty scale, and this fits the bill. Not that I’ve weighed something that was 500Kg yet, but you never know. Like how it lets you pretty much weigh anything you want, regardless of shape or size.

I thought this would be a great ad to our 1000lbs hoist that we use for lifting steel. Unfortunately, it’s a bit too mini for the hoist hook. I’ll have to make some new kind of end attachment for it. Otherwise it seems to work fine. It seems to be die-cast and not super robust.
