This media is awesome. Cleans up my brass great. But works best with the media additive/polish.Will definitely buy more!

I don't give a bunch of 5 stars - this stuff deserves it! I have used corn cob media both with and without abrasive, and ditto on walnut shell media, including the red rouge walnut media. Hazelnut shells are by far the best - shortest time to clean, brightest shine, cleanest primer pockets and interior. Finish is so smooth, it feels like the brass has been waxed. Just threw away everything but this.

I'm happy to say that this stuff works a LOT better than walnut media. I don't use it for cleaning cartridge cases. I use it for cleaning jewelry settings made of Zamak (mostly zinc) alloy. It works really well for that, in fact, it seems to do in just one day what walnut media needs 2 or 3 days to accomplish. Seems to get into tighter spaces too. Not only that, but my tumblers actually run noticeably quieter with this hazelnut media, which is an odd thing maybe but very welcome. And oh, is it nice to NOT have to put up with walnut dust going all over everywhere. I did try cleaning some old .45 Colt cases and it worked even better and faster with the cases than with the Zamak alloy. If it turns out to polish as well as it cleans, I will be very happy indeed. You should try this sfuff.

Excellent results. In the picture I took, you can see a few pieces of brass at the top right (4 of them but one is kind of behind the others) that are more yellow than the others. Those were tumbled with corn cob and plenty of polishing additive. All the rest are so bright they are almost white. The difference is a little harder to see in the photo but still noticeable. I am very impressed and I just started a batch of .40 cal. One thing I have noticed is that the hazelnut shells flow much faster and get much more movement of the brass. They are really swimming strong in there. It should be noted that I added a little of the polishing fluid that came with my tumber into the .300 WIN MAG batch you see in the pic. I filled my tumbler and only used about half the media. I am very happy with this stuff.

So maybe the shine is not as bright as the media that uses jeweler's rouge, but the brass comes out very clean without the dust so common on much other tumbling media.
