It's a little confusing. There are no instructions. It seems pretty straight forward, except the back piece, when you slide it in the last slice opening, it spreads it apart and doesn't fit down to the bottom. It seems like it will make that first slice off a little bit? I haven't used it yet, so we'll see. The picture in the ad doesn't show this happening so I didn't know. Other than that I didn't see what could go wrong.

Hard to tell from the pic with the bread not sittimg straight up in the bag, but this worked great for me. Clean even slices. No slpintering of the product like i saw in other similar products. Definitely recommend

I'm mystified by the good reviews for this item; they are clearly inflated.This came without any instructions for how to put it together or use it. It's a simple item, so you might think that would be obvious--but it's not, since the parts don't attach securely to each other and it doesn't work as intended. So I'm left wondering if I put it together wrong or don't understand how to use it.I can't get it to hold the bread in place for good cuts, and the slots are too wide to make even slices. Again, maybe I'm missing something, but it definitely doesn't work for bakery bread that has a thick crust and irregular shape. I guess it might work for a soft, square supermarket loaf, but why would you need a slicer for that? That kind of bread comes pre-sliced.Instead of instructions, it comes with a sad letter from the shipper, who is apparently a reseller. You might think this is a nice touch but it didn't feel sincere to me. It seemed to be included to make people think twice about returning the item. I wish the seller had provided some instructions, that would have actually been helpful for the buyer.The product description is misleading, since if I had known it wasn't coming direct from the manufacturer I wouldn't have bought it.

If you are a once-a-week baker and need to slice loaves of bread with any frequency, this is NOT the bread guide to purchase! The plastic guides begin to shave hair-like threads as you use the cutter. I immeditely stopped using this item and I do not recommend due to the potential to contiminate food.

Sturdy and works well. It would be nice if it were a bit wider, sometime I have to squeeze the bread to fit it in.
