I knew the name from quality horse bridle bits. This is excellent quality. Its pitch is perfect. The dogs response is immediate and easy with no fear from it being too much.

It's much more effective if you get that screw dialed into where your dog notices it best. I keep it hanging from a chain around my neck. The tightening screw just keeps coming loose and the adjustment screw tightens all the way up. This results in your shock and surprise when you try to use the whistle to recall your dog and get nothing in return.A few wraps of some teflon tape solved my problem, but it's a shame it didn't work out the box.

My neighbors living behind me have eight yappers, ( Chihuahuas) and I can't even sit in my back yard or work there without them driving me inside! With this training whistle it stops the barking "pronto". Good product!

I may send it back. While quality appears to be good, they send you directions for a different model. Dog does not respond. Could not get range on it. They have apparently changed the whistle design to make it cheaper. Apparently Acme Whistles makes the 'original' silent dog whistle, made in the UK. I only brought this as I could not find one made in the USA or Canada, and expected the Germans to be able to send the right instructions. Made in Germany is not the quality it used to be. Sprenger ought to fix the problem or the seller. Very disappointing. How hard can it be?

This is the first dog whistle I've used. The mechanism is simple for changing the pitch, and construction seems solid. The tone is audible to human ears, from what I understand most dog whistles are not silent. Dogs and cats have both responded to the sound. One star off for no instruction or information included.

We have a neighbor that apparently loves her dog to communicate with her. As early as 5 AM and throughout the day. With whistle we are at least to shut it up and being awoken. I recommend this GERMAN crafted whistle.

Herm Sprenger products are fantastic, unfortunately this product isn’t. Doesn’t work. Tried on various dogs and all possible settings and really had no reaction.

This is so loud a referee could use it. I don't know how it can be advertised as silent, as it certainly is not. Rubbish. Not as advertised.

es geht darum mit dem Hund zu trainieren um gewisse entfernungen zu überwinden, zwecks Komandos.Am Anfang hat dies super funktioniert, doch wir persönlich mussten öfters mal die Frequenz wechseln, da unser Hund, hatte er sich einmal an den gewissen Ton gewöhnt, diesen auch schon ignorierte.Frei nach dem Motto "kenne ich schon, ist nix neues" :-) :-) (aber so ist er halt)Das Produkt selber ist von sehr guter Verarbeitung und das Einstellen des Tones und die anschließende fixierung dessen kinderleicht.Wie gesagt, bei unserem Hund hat das nicht so wirklich funktioniert. Wir haben die Pfeife einem Freund für dessen Hund geschenkt und bei diesem klappte alles perfekt!
