A5 is not the same as 8 1/2 x 11. This is a sturdy envelope clutch bag that holds my notebook, wallet, keys, iems, phone and tablet. I am pleased with it.

This is a nice product. The suede leather is very nice. The case itself will not fit a manilla folder. It holds plenty of paper, however, the tabs on the folder make the paper too big. Overall nice but too small for what I need.

Very well built item and very attractive. I saw the reviews saying it was too small and I thought maybe people were being picky but this is actually quite true. With all those reviews saying too small you'd think the manufacturer would make it just a little bigger. I didn't even take it out of the plastic, placing an eight and a half by 11 sheet on top and saw there's no way it would fit without curling the corners. Wanted to use this to bring paperwork to a court case and since it was not usable for this purpose I returned it.

This leather "folio", along with everything I've received from Hide and Drink, is solidly built out of quality materials. The problem with this item would be easy to fix if the company would actually take a minute to actually TEST inserting the objects that this product is made for. This is supposed to be used to hold several file folders size worth of documents inside. It just does not do that because it is just too small. I have standard size file folders with about 10 documents or so in each, when placing them inside they stick out too much to allow the top flap to close down over the contents and snap closed. (See pictures) The 3rd picture shows the distance that need to be gained in order for the product to actually close, it's like an inch. Without it the product bends the top of the folders over. To fix this ALL THESE GUYS WOULD NEED TO DO is to move the snaps closer to the top by about an inch or so allowing the top some space for the cover to have some expansion room. The pouch is like 2 inches deep, but you can not use that space because the height is too small. So it ends up as wasted. Unless you want to fold your papers in half and use it that way, this product WILL NOT DO what you are probably expecting it to do as far as documents go.It is built well, stitched well, thick leather, all that... but is non functional until they figure out how to properly measure the space required to actually fit documents inside and snap closed. The leather "folio" product even comes in cool light canvas bag that has a leather drawstring closure, which is actually very useful in and of itself. If only they made it about 1 to 2 inch taller and moved the snaps, they would have an awesome product. Such a small thing, but as it is... it's non-functional for it's designed purpose. But I didn't have the heart to give it 1 star or something like that since it's not garbage, it just can't be used for 8.5 x 11 standard documents.

The envelope is smaller than I thought. A5 and legal sized documents won’t fit in
