I got these because I wanted to create a laser maze just as a fun arduino project. These worked great for what I needed. There wasn't really a good explanation of what the 3 different pins were for; I only used 2.

Every laser was mounted very crooked on the board which makes it very hard to align was a laser receiver on the other end. The dots are not focused whatsoever and have more of a star shape than a focused dot. Overall poor quality.

Put a 9v on this board and shined it abt 70ft away, then I focused the lens as much as possible and shined it pretty far, opened Google maps and figured out I could see it at a distance of 500ft with daylight out an hour before dusk, very satisfied, accidentally reflected into my eyes off of a window, would suggest you use caution.

Others have mentioned the + and S pins being reversed. I tried applying 5V to these pins as indicated and in reverse, even with fresh devices in case reverse biasing them burns them up. There was no current draw from my lab power supply in either configuration and they do not light up. I suggest looking elsewhere. There are many sellers of similar devices.

They function well however the wiring is all messed up. Ground and 5v are swapped I believe on the label.

Maybe they changed the product. Ive bench tested one for over 30 minutes continuous without failure.. The ones I recieved work fine on 5 volt, ground connected to the negative ( - ) pin, and 5vdc connected to the pin labeled S ( maybe thats supposed to be a 5?)For reference these are the two outer pins. The center pin purpose is unknown.

I have purchased a lot from HiLetgo and glad they didn't fail me this time with something like mislabeled PCB. The designators are correct on my batch of stuff
