It works. But both connectors are male so I had to cut one off and crimp on a female. And no wiring instructions at all so you have to figure out what to connect it to. I connected it to the black wire going to the fan (not the white). not sure if connecting to the white would work, but the black worked. It slows down my fireplace fan now so it is nice and quiet.

Poor design. The wire is not designed to connect properly and have room to attach the switch on a fire place.
