These are an exact fit replacement for the builders quality door catches - but much better quality. These are easily adjusted in two different ways (spring for strength of catch and shaft for fit). They took 60 seconds to replace and I expect these will last for many years.

I used this product to replace some old door ball catches on our closet doors. It was a very quick install and it works well. An improvement on the product would be if the ball spring screwed into a shaft versus just the plate. I noticed that when testing the placement of the ball, if I had it out too far and closed the door, the ball would be screwed in off track, which required me taking down the door to get a better grip to get it back on track. The previous ones I had were screwed into a shaft, which allowed it to stay on the track better.

I needed to replace the 20+ year old closet ball catch. I found this on line and gave it a try. It was perfect fit, just removed the old and placed the new set in. No extra trimming or adjustment, and it was a lot cheaper in price than the major home stores.

These work as well as any others I've used. The adjustable tension is helpful if you need it. The finish on these could be better, but where I'm using them, pantry door and linen closet door, no one's going to see them. Once they're installed it's not noticeable anyway. These do exactly what they're supposed to do - keep the door shut, so I'm satisfied.
