My Carrier furnace had an Honeywell installed from 20 years ago. This one works fine but its not the OEM I had installed. They must of bought this company. And BTW this x-mer does not say Honeywell any where on it. Its got some other brand name. Hope it last a few years. New models never get better just more costly and last less. I've been a licensed electrical contractor IBEW for 38 years I installed a few x-mers in my day!

I refuse to pay $500 for a stoner HVAC guy to replace my 3yr old furnace's transformer. I have a Trane horizontal unit that a repair man put a 10A fuse inline to this 240 > 24V step down unit. Needless to say that was enough to fry it again, now on my 4th transformer, i've stopped paying for terrible service and cut the power and re-did all of his shooty handy work. You would not believe the amount of un-crimped or bare wire connections that were all over the place. Anyways fixed my issue after I've almost paid for a brand new furnace in repair fees, long story short USE A 5A fuse in line to this transformer, if you don't and there's a poor connection/short you'll be buying these in bulk and the repair folks will be charging you as they did me $169 visit + $330 for the transformer each time it blows. Hope this helps you!
