After taking the old parts off of the lamp and seeing how it all goes together, putting the new parts on was easy. The color of the new parts matched the old parts. Other reviews have mentioned that you couldn't tell the two wires apart and that assemblies would spark or whatever ~ I tried wiring it both ways and it seems to work fine either way. Two sets come in a package, and I will re-wire the matching lamp later today.

I had two old lamps with crispy cords and one of them had a concerning switch. This kit was just what I needed to make the lamps safe again. Be sure to read the instructions and pay attention to the order that you need to put your lamp back together: I made a mistake and was barely able to pry it apart because it is meant to stay together once you push the two metal halves together - it has locking one way tabs inside. And this color matches the old brass pieces of the rest of the lamp so only I can tell that it's been upgraded with new parts.

I had two very nice lamps that were over 20 years old, and the switches were failing. Ordered these, and after watching a couple of how-to videos to ensure I did this properly, it was pretty easy. They seem to be good quality and the brass color looks great. Both lamps now work like new.
