It starts to work the second you install the batteries. I think it's quite accurate. When you open your safe, check your reading. After about a minute, you might start seeing your number to start going up. That's the humidity from outside your safe. I think ideal humidity should be around 30% - 50% inside your safe. Then you decide on a dehumidifier. You might need more than just one.

Works great and does what it is supposed to. It has a couple opinions of how to display. you can either use the stand on the back or attach a provided QD mount to the inside of your safe door and attach it with that. I also like the 24hr Hi/Lo recording that it has. For the money it looks good and works great.

Easy to use. Battery life seems OK after 9 month it is still good. Not quite as accurate as other meters I have but close enough for my purposes.

Bought two for my identical safes. My worry was that they would be off by alot on temp/ Humid. not the case here after 24 hrs. the difference was one tenth on temp and 1 percent on Humidity. Con, a little more info. on the mounting options would be good. I did not mount mine the built in stand works well in my case. touch screen is a plus although I don't use it every time I open my safe. overall I would recommend this product to anyone.

Easy to use, easy to read. Actually is touch screen, so controls are simple to adjust. A nice addition to keep an eye on your humidity, and protect your stuff! I checked it against a few other humidity sensors I have, and found it to be in spec.

I bought 3 other makes for same price. Temp and humidity work just as good.You are paying for the hornaday name.Not worth the extra money

Humidity worked less than 24h .... indicate 35% when it is 55 !!! Scrap material .....
