Carbon steel pipe taps are designed to clean and/or rethread to damage or block pipe threads.
Right-hand cutting tool has a clockwise cutting function.
NPT Pipe taps sizes includes:1/4"-18 NPT, 3/8"-18 NPT, 1/2"-14 NPT, 3/4"-14. Equipped with special storage box.
Round shank, square end. Straight flute tools allow chips to collect in the Flutes as they cut and are well suited for most applications in shallow cuts.
Uncoated tools have only the base material and do not need any additional treatment or coating, so they can be widely used.

Sheerness and warmth? What's up with that question Amazon? Sure... The thread taps were warm enough and a guess sheery for what I do.Well, the taps are a grood price compared to everything else I looked at. Is perfect for ferrous metals or cast iron you find in automotive like rethreading bungs in an intake. Works great.

These worked all right, I wasn't trying to cut new threads to be fair. I was just trying to chase existing ones, and they did the thing. I'm not sure they'd cut new threads quite as well, but if you're doing thread repair, these would do just fine. Material quality, fit and finish lead me to believe they'd probably give up the ghost if you were doing a lot of new threads with these.

very poorly made, case arrived with taps all over the place and dinged up and threads not properly cut on some sides. bite the bullet and get something more expensive, the old saying stands true: buy once, cry once.
