Never helicoiled, drilled and tapped, or even drilled out a bolt before. Stripped a tensioner bolt when doing my timing belt and ended up having to go this route. I was terrified I would make a catastrophic mistake as it sounds like a major surgery procedure. However it couldn't of been more straightforward, held great in the aluminum and is working just fine. Take your time and sleep easier knowing this is in your box.

This kit fixed my problem quick! Had stripped threads in my 2011 ford fiesta rear shock upper mount bore, causing constant rattling in the rear leading to a cracked shock mount. Went to install a new shock when I discovered this and thought I was “screwedâ€! Searched on you tube how to fix the threads and found this…never new kits like these existed for problems like this, but glad I found it! Worth every penny at a fair price. Nice packaging and portable sturdy case. Plenty of sizes and pieces included for the job!

Great kit for the price. Was able to drill, tap & thread a stripped hole in an aluminum engine block in tight quartes. I should have used red locktite on the coil insert though. I had to back out a bolt and the insert unwinded a bit. It's not an issue with this kit in particular, it apparently can happen with brand name tread repair coils. Rookie mistake.Hope I never need to repair a stripped thread again, but I have a lifetime supply of tools and inserts if I do.

32hrs from when I found my issue until I had no issue! Had a stripped caliper bolt on my front brake ordered this kit got it the next day and was a fast easy fix got done so quick I had time to mow the lawn so remember that so you take your time unless you like to mow ! Had everything I needed except a drill and a handle for the tap

Item was received well packed and timely, exactly as pictured in ad.I’ve already used this! It works perfect! My word of caution is this. Take your time! The first one I did, I screwed the thread insert in on the new retapped hole. I went too fast and it stretched the thread coil out like a spring. I could not put the bolt in…the threads were stretched. I had to use a thin flat blade screwdriver and needle nose pliers to extract the new insert. Once out, I slowly threaded the new insert in and with no resistance, I was able to install the new threads….the bolt went in perfectly. So take your time and don’t force it.This tool is wonderful!! Wish I’d had it years ago!
