I am replacing I am guessing a 30 plus yr. old front exterior handle set with no lock after my old one would no longer function correctly. I purchased this product because it was 'flexible', inexpensive, looked on the selling page nice and shipped fast. I was not disappointed @ all. It looks nice, I had no problems with the mechanical pieces as some say they had in the reviews (did they not read the instructions maybe?... though honestly I didn't read the instructions either..) and I was able to install in 15 to 20 minutes. I did have the luxury of having the holes in my door pre-drilled. The only issue I had was the bored hole through the side of my old door was slightly smaller than what the latch assembly needed to pass through. I had to slightly ream the hole larger for the latch assembly to pass through the hole. The reversible handle worked well as did the adjustable height screw receiver on the bottom of the handle which assured me that though I was replacing the old existing handle with another brand, it would still work.I am not a locksmith. However from my inspection of the complete assembly everything looks durable and should last after many uses. And because this is a non-locking handle assembly, I was not overly concerned about security. If I was installing a locking exterior handle and Security was a priority, I probably would have gone with a Schlage. This handle so far has kept it's word and has been great for a replacement handle.

The rod that is meant to open the latch is two pieces with a rod that is kept in place by a spring washer instead of being a solid piece. Using this for one day and the rod is now acting as a free spinning bearing. I'm sure you can figure out why that wouldn't then open the latch to the door. Not only is this a broken product, it's defective from the beginning for everyone who buys it. Every one of these will fail sooner or later. Sooner is the most likely, especially in temperature swings.

I regret buying the HOSOM Front Door Handle Set. The handle randomly fails, making it impossible to open the door from the inside. This has happened to me twice, leaving me literally trapped inside my own home. Both times, I had to completely disassemble the entire handle set just to get out. That’s not just an inconvenience—it’s a serious safety hazard. A front door handle should be reliable, not something that might leave you stuck in an emergency. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Save yourself the frustration (and potential danger) and buy a different set.
