Adjust the ballhead to make the umbrella block the raindrops perfectly
It also works as sun umbrella so it could block sunlight or reflection
If you use the umbrella with tripod in a storm, remember to use a sandbag so your camera won't be blown away
The big size is fits the most use cases while the small size is more portable, enough to use under light rain and handheld photographing
Twist the bottom wheel to fasten the umbrella, usually you don't need to make it too tight
Twist the body to prevent the umbrella from rotating (very important)
Twist the ballhead base to make the umbrella facing the direction of rain / light
Tighten the knob to keep the umbrella in place, classic ballhead design

Those darn Sony cameras just love to over heat when shooting video in direct sunlight. We no longer have over heating issues while recording wedding ceremonies. My only complaint is the wind will catch the umbrella and try to take the whole camera away. A heavier tripod would fix the issue.

On an important shoot, I will carry something larger. At least this is light enough to hold in one hand by myself. I do not mount to my camera, too cumbersome to adjust on the fly.

But really... I have been all over the US filming for my job and this summer My cameras have been overheating. (Thanks Houston...) I tried using paper plates and gaff tape... Ordered these the same day, use them for the next shoot and what a different! What a silly, small thing to make such a drastic improvement in my workflow.

Unfortunately, it does not fit on my hotshoe (Nikon Mirroless Z6ii) and had to return it. I am going to a place where a sudden cloud burst is not unheard of, and quite frequent. I dislike the rain covers as they are cumbersome and often don't stay in place.

Bought this for a relative who had drowned a few cameras filming in the rain. I wouldn't suggest using it in strong wind but the user said its great for rain and as a sun shade in sunny weather.
