These are great for EVs or welding. Only buy industrial for home welding or ev charging. This is the only brand I trust.

I had a different brand outlet to charge my Tesla and it kept overheating causing the car to reduce the charge rate to 16amps but this outlet does not have that problem.

I purchased this 6-50 outlet because I'd heard from multiple sources not to trust the inexpensive versions found at big box stores for EV Charging. They aren't built for multi-hour electrical draw. I'm happy with this sturdy outlet. I have interrupted my charging mid-cycle to check the outlet for any heat issues and have not had any.Minus one star because the first unit I was sent was defective. The holes for the faceplate were threaded incorrectly so I couldn't put a faceplate on it. Amazon rushed a new one out to me.

I ordered the first one. It worked for a week and then couldn’t charge my Tesla at 32 amps- decreases to 16 amps. Exchanged it for another one which worked for 2 months and now the same thing is happening. Would not recommend for Tesla.

This is a MUCH better receptacle than is available at the big box home improvement stores. Unlike lower quality items, this receptacle has a thicker plastic housing, metal boxed wire mounting locations and thick metal receivers for plugging in an appliance or EV charger. I am using this on a 220V 30A dedicated circuit for a Chargepoint home EV charger and find the plug to the charger slips in easily and stays in place much better than the previously used Leviton receptacle. I believe this item is worth the extra cost to have a quality, heavy duty component in a high amp draw circuit.

When tightening one of the screw terminals it broke. Hubbell is supposed to be high quality so either I got a dud or this is counterfeit.
